Guess Which Booties Cost More

Is it just me, or are shoes gradually becoming more and more...aggressive? Designers seem to be adding ever more straps, spikes, studs, whips and chains (OK, maybe not whips—yet) to our footwear. Sign of the times, I guess, and for the most part, I say bring it on. Here are two pairs of peep-toe booties that have been bound with buckles. Both are edgy and fierce, but only one is what I'd consider to be affordable. Can you guess which is which?

The Steve Madden 'SLASSSH' triple belt booties on the LEFT cost $199.95 (you can buy them here.)

The Charlotte Russe belted peep-toe booties on the RIGHT cost $39.99 (get them here.)

good options here...i'm feeling the black a bit more because of the monochromatic black, but both are great options!

I know what you mean, BB. Eventually our shoes will have teeth and claws ...

In the meantime, I'm digging the black version. Stacked heels with fake stacking annoy me.

The only way I would've guessed that the black booties cost more is because they have a cleaner, more vertical line and just a look a little more scary to wear. Haha. Even though I could never wear them, I absolutely think they look amazing on the fashionistas that rock them well!

I did a post on these charlotte russe givenchy-inspired booties last month - I got them in black and they're amazing. Actually very comfy, so stylish, and I get tons of compliments too!

Oh wow, I kind of want the Maddens. Seriously though, shoes are getting intense!

Hey I guessed right! :-)
Although they both look really good, and it was hard to tell.

I'm LOVING the intensity seen in shoes as of late. Buckles, spikes, barbed wire (okay, nix that last one), bring it on baby!!!

Heehe I'm loving the whole fierce embellishments look! They give you such confidence when you're strutting down the street and the contrast of pairing girly blouses with kick-ass boots is so hot.

I LOVE the black pair.

Yay! I got this right.

Anything with a hidden platform wil always be more expensive than an exposed one.

woohoo! I got it right too, the platform did give it away. But if you wore it around, I wouldn't have cared whether someone paid $200 or $40 for the shoes if they knew how to rock it!

I guessed correctly, but it was really a toss-up. I thought the difference in hardware & shape of the Madden heels gave it away.

I guessed right! The Steve Madden craftsmanship look a lot better than the ones on the right.
