Today in Fashion: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

We gasp, groan, and go gaga over it, but no matter how we react, fashion always has a way of making us smile...

First, the GOOD: We chanced upon these refreshingly cute and affordable shoes by Shellys London at Urbanoutfitters.com. Always a pick-me-up! Left: Shellys London Fiji Thong, $40.00 Right: Shellys London Quilted Ballet in Gold, Now $29.99.

Then, the BAD: We spotted a highly questionable trend—open-toed booties. These may work for some celebs but they're just plain ugly to us. And borderline S&M.

Finally, the UGLY: apparently, rompers aka onesies aren't just for babies anymore. Next thing you know, we'll be back to sucking on pacifiers and twirling glow sticks. No thank you.

Regarding the BAD, just look at who's wearing the boots (aside from Sarah Jessica, who can be forgiven for a faux pas now and then as she's a very together lady): uh, an ex-Spice Girl whose current claim to fame is being married to an adulterous soccer player (albeit a cute one), and Lindsey Lohan (nope, too easy).
Any time you have doubts about the good taste/common sense of wearing something, just check out if Lindsey/Paris/Britney/Posh/L'il Kim (oh the list just goes on, doesn't it?) have ever been seen in it and the answer becomes too obvious.

hahahahaha!!! Rompers! Even the name sounds ridiculous! I saw one of these at H&M a couple of months ago and as a joke I tried it on. I came out of the dressing room and my boyfriend was like "what IS that?" hahahaha! As if regular fashion doesn't confuse men enough he seemed actually disturbed that the fashion world would try to put grown women in onesies!

Was it tricky getting that thing off? I imagine they'd be a real hassle when you have to use the ladies room...

Yeah it was pretty hard. I had to have the girl that works in the dressing room assist me with the zipper so I didn't rip the thing off. Onesies are surprisingly constricting!

Back in the 70's there was a classier (ok, that depends on who was wearing it and how) version, the one-piece pantsuit.
they were actually slimming and you didn't have that 'shirt sticking out of the pants' problem.
However, as usual, Budget Babe is on track and doesn't miss a thing - it was a swine to take off in the bathroom.
Bytheway, men wore them too.

Men! hahaha! Hilarious! As for the "tucked in look" I still love that, now you can buy just the top for that look. Victoria Secret.com for example sells them. Its like a blouse connected to a bathing suit bottom, slightly odd but it does give that really nice constantly tucked look (also not fun to try to tinkle in though!) I own a couple, one even has snaps on the bottom just like an infant for easy bathroom use! hahaha!

Can you send pics? And can these be worn with high-waisted skirts?

yes, men in jumpsuits. my best friend's brother had one which was custom made for him. believe it or not, we thought it was cutting edge, shiny polyester and all.
very elvis-y.

re one-sies. seems the older we get, the more we feel comfortable with the things of childhood. ha ha ha
:-)

bytheway, when is the world going to realize posh spice is a joke? she just put in a closet for 500K that has a computer which tells her when and where she wore each outfit. seems the girl has entirely too much time on her hands.
her cute but brainless husband on the other hand supposedly does a lot of anonymous charity work. he donates money through his mother so nobody knows it's him and word leaked out in england a while ago, much to his chagrin.
good work, david, and nice that he did it without publicity.
now just dump the baggage and get yourself a girl who is not so self-absorbed!

I want to see men in rompers!

Just kidding, ick!~ But some rompers are cute. A lot depends on the styling, and not everyone can wear them, but some are charming. On females!

If we can dig up a photo of a gent in a romper, we'll be sure to post it!! We have one from the family album of our dear uncle, but he won't sign the release form ;-)
