Four Relaxed Crop Pants: Would You Wear One?

As in Spring seasons past, many designers such as Richard Chai sent loose-fitting, relaxed fit pants down the runways for 2009, and fashion chains everywhere are following this trend. As much as I love this look, especially with the rolled up cuffs and pale hues shown by Chai, I'm not sure I'm ready to shed my fitted jeans for fuller cuts. Voluminous pants...frighten me, as much as I adore the look on others and the smooth silky fabrics that lend themselves so well to this look. Reassure me that I have nothing to fear, and that you're ready to wear this style yourself—perhaps one of the four pairs above is calling your name?

I would love to, but as most of my blog readers know, my ankles are a no-go zone! Still, I might be tempted to rock capris or cropped pants with some gladiators come summer!

I'm really liking pant #2 for some reason. maybe it's that awesome safari olive colour.

I already own quite a few pairs! I come from a hot country (Bangladesh) so cropped trousers are a definite wardrobe staple. I have all sorts - and some of the loose ones are perfect for the hottest days! #1 is my fave from the ones you've posted. x

As a larger thigh girl I like the idea of loose pants, but not sure the length would look right. It would have to it at just the right spot...I am with allison in liking #3...this is a new idea for Summer wear. I'll have to keep my eye out for a pair to try later when the weather is warm.

They're all really cute, but I think they'd probably make my already large hips and thighs look even bigger. Then again, it's possible that a high waisted pair would be nice and slimming. Think it's possible?

Like Leia, I like the Express cropped pants the best, and I do really like this look. But, cropped anything is bad for those of us under 5'0" (I realize we're few and far between, but I'm one of them!) and even though I think I have the frame to wear them, I shun anything and everything cropped because of my height. Dear Husband thinks these types of pants are sexy, though, so I might have to give them a try ... Or at least try on a pair in store!

Katie - paired with heels are they still as bad for petite ladies?

I don't really like them. None of them actually :/ Very awkward looking. But then again, I'm sure some girls can pull it off. Me, not so much.

I love #3. I am now making plans to incorporate this look into my wardrobe.

I like the relaxed pant, but I'm still not sold on the cropped aspect. I've got larger thighs, so I don't usually wear pants that are really form fitting anyway (I prefer straight leg) so the relaxed cut isn't a leap for me.

I just bought a white pair (the first pair of white pants I've ever been able to bring myself to purchase). The forgiving cut made the color choice possible. Just make sure you pair them with a more fitted top to avoid looking frumpy.

I am so drawn to this style, but fear the pleats. I'll have to try a pair in person to see for sure!

I love the last 3 you have chosen! I might just have to hop into an express and try a pair on...im loving this style of pant!
