i see paris' prison epiphany was short-lived. she's still as self-absorbed as ever. the less written about her, the better!
the media created this monster, the media can make her go away.
Will you still read this blog if we admit that we like Paris? Because we do
why? she is self-centered, sleeps around, and has not accomplished anything worthy of mention. shouldn't the media focus more on positive people who contribute something to society? when is she going to start doing all the charity work she vowed to become involved with when she did her prison interviews? or was she just annoyed people were running out of things to write about?
Why do we like Paris...good question...Well, when it comes to "liking" or "disliking" complete strangers who we have never met and frankly, know nothing about (ie., most celebrities), we take a rather arbitrary stance based largely on emotion and apply it to the idea of the person, rather than the actual person. So in the case of Paris Hilton, we like the idea of siding with someone that so many people seem to utterly despise. She's no underdog by any means, but she's still hated by many and honestly, that's enough to make us like her. Twisted? Perhaps. This is just our opinion. It's not set in stone and subject to change on a whim
i agree completely with your assessment about 'liking' or 'disliking' complete strangers. i personally have nothing against Paris as a person. she does not seem like a bad human being. what i take exception to is all the media focus on her when she actually doesn't do anything. it's not a reflection on her, she's making the most of an opportunity (that's positive), but a reflection on the sad state of our society. regarding people 'hating' her, we call it envy, because, what's she done to them? they hate the fact that she can get away with things and they can't. that's why there was this almost universal glee and hysteria when she got the jail sentence. sad, right?
We agree. Who in their right mind could argue that all the media attention people have given her (bloggers included
However, if anyone has a legitimate reason to mention Paris, wouldn't it be the fashion crowd? Isn't what she's wearing the one completely superficial characteristic we can talk about, for fashion's sake? And we don't really need to know her from Adam to have an opinion on her wardrobe, right? Or is any exposure, regardless of subject matter, just feeding the beast? What do you think?? Just throwing it out there!
i don't think she dresses well. a lot of her clothing is, well, too obvious and slutty.
as for budgets, well, she just goes out and buys that hermes bag for 6k, probably ordering the new line ahead of time. there's a lot of people out there who dress better, like sarah jessica parker, mischa barton, cate blanchett. people like paris, posh spice, nicole r., are just not good examples of style, at any price. now i'll look at those keds that mischa's wearing again!
Some of her outfits are just plain fun. Most are over the top. We think some celebs just take themselves waaaay too seriously...like Posh, who ::gag:: is sullying the cover of my new issue of W!!
