The Look for Less: Yves Saint Laurent Necklace

Yves Saint Laurent at ShopStyle

This Yves Saint Laurent Glass Pearl necklace available at at Net-a-porter.com would make a dramatic statement paired with a strapless gown. Then again, your credit card statement would create just as much drama once you saw the $1,495 charge at the end of the month.

Forever 21 at ShopStyle

While this Midnight Beaded Necklace available at Forever21.com lacks the charm of the velvet ribbon tie which graces the designer piece, it's a chic substitute costing a mere $12.80. (Click any image for details.)

Here's another alternative from Forever21 that might meet your needs, too:

I have this in the "black silver" and it looks a lot more expensive than it is, and is a great, bold statement necklace. You could probably even get away with tying some spare velvet ribbon on the back and getting more of the YSL effect.

I love it! You're right, adding ribbon would be an easy DIY touch that would boost the originality factor.

Budgetbabe,

here's the question of the week: What is your single favorite piece of clothing in your closet?

Up until last week, it was my Chip & Pepper "Nik" skinny jeans (my sister got them for me off ebay for $25)...but after wearing them all winter, they've developed a large, irreparable hole. This would make a great question for a post...!

Score! I love a big-old statementy necklace, and this F21 version is right up my alley.
