So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley
Of course, sequins were one of the major draws for watching Fox's So You Think You Can Dance. All that glitter, glam and sparkle made it hard for us to look away. And it wasn't just the dancers who were rocking sequins: Host Cat Deeley (our girl crush) dazzled in sequin-laden mini-dresses on more than one occasion.
While we adore Cat and think she looked absolutely fabulous and ladylike throughout the season, we couldn't help but wonder—is the opportunity to wear sequins every girl's inalienable right? Or are they something that must be earned? Should sequins be reserved for the talented dancers and other performers among us who train tirelessly for their moment in the spotlight? Are we plebeians stealing their thunder and encroaching on foreign territory when we don an Alice+Olivia sequinned frock to a cocktail party? Or does every girl have the right to have a disco-ball moment?
On a side note, congratulations are in order for Sabra Elise Johnson, the Season Three Winner of the competition. She's a gorgeous dancer and deserving of the prize. (Can you tell we love dancing??)
So what's the verdict? Should sequins be reserved for performers or are they appropriate for everyone?
