Inspired By: Christopher Kane Graphic Tees

Christopher Kane at ShopStyle

You've no doubt seen this wild baboon shirt by designer Christopher Kane (or the gorilla, or the chimp, etc.) on dozens of fashion blogs, and maybe you're even dying to get your hands on one of his pieces yourself. Of course, all that fierceness comes with a steep price tag; this tee costs $310 at Net-a-Porter.

During a recent trip to H&M, I spotted this tunic top with a graphic photo-style print of an ominous landscape and I couldn't help but think it was inspired by Kane. With you, my dear reader, always on my mind, I snapped and photo so I could share this find with all you Christopher Kane fans who can't afford the real thing (and really, why pay $300 for a t-shirt?). These aren't sold online, but check your nearest H&M store like, today, if you're interested.

While I appreciate the, um, artistic license Christopher Kane took with this shirt, I can't help thinking the whole look appears cheap. The top reminds me of a more frightening version of the WWF (that's World Wildlife Fund, not World Wrestling Federation) shirts kids used to wear when I was in grade school. While you did a fabulous job finding a similar style (kudos!), there are some 80s and early 90s looks that, in my humble opinion, should be left in the past.

I just don't know about having an actual photograph on the entire shirt. It does look kinda cheap, like they made it at walgreens or something :X but good job at finding something similar!

Christopher Kane for Topshop comes out 9/18. It's still pricey, but looks very similar.

Oh yeah, I heard about that from nitrolicious. Thanks for the reminder!

Just a little too scary for me. Speaking of 90's trends anybody remember when everyone had to have a Banana Republic print t-shirt? This was way before it became the mecca of classy.
