Four Over the Knee Boots: Would You Wear One?

Over the knee boots are a big trend for Fall, the question is: Will you be wearing them? They look gorgeous on the runways (Emilio Pucci, Isabel Marant, Roberto Cavalli, to name a few) and even better on celebs (Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, even Anne Hathaway) but will they translate to your everyday life? I am tempted to try something like #3 which is over-the-knee but not over-the-top. How about you?

I prefer just-at-the-knee boots. I think the over-the-knee boots could be uncomfortable as your knee bends inside while walking.

If I were to wear an over-the-knee pair, I'd go for the flat boots to keep from looking tarty.

Yes! I have a long knit/sweater tunic from H&M that would go perfect with a pair. I've wanted a pair ever since I saw Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada - Pat Field is a genius. It was a wake up call to me: yes you can wear over the knee boots and not look like a dominatrix! Ha ha.

Definitely. I am all about boots, and love any chance to try a new style. Already took mine out for a spin, but am hoping to find more ways to wear 'em!

The way you've styled yours is very chic and classy, has a Calvin Klein modernism vibe which I just love. Great inspiration!

I have a hard time finding regular tall boots that close properly. I doubt I'll be able to pull anything past the knees :-(

I think they look great on other people. I'm super short so it just wouldn't look right on me. I'm scared that creeps will be asking me "how much?" lol.

Also - I definitely think the key for average women (aka non-models) to pull off the look is to go for a boot in a matte material. To me, the shinier it is the harder it becomes to pull off.

Love the trend, but don’t think I can pull it off since I have shorter legs. Definitely going to try on a pair though before I completely write them off.

Yes! and I have been looking for cheap ones.

i just bought the charoltte russe ones in black and gray yesyerday&am wearing the gray ones today over some jeggings...they are perfect. foot is shaped perfect, good height, soft "suede"

definitly worth the money (especially cuz yesterday all shoes at cr were buy one get one for $10...i got 2 pairs of boots for $50!)
#11 jenni on 2009-09-25 11:45 (Reply)
definitely dont ever get those charlotte russe ones! yes, they are cheap, but the hold up is terrible. i bought two pairs of those suede boots in different colors last fall and they ripped in the back after not much wear. definitely dont recommend them.

DO recommend the suede chinese laundry ones, way better quality for your money

I JUST blogged about this today! I bought my two over-the-knee boots in 2006/2007 WAY before the trend hit! I got looks back then that I was a Dirty Pirate Hooker but luckily now my boots are lusted over!!!

I got the boots in Paris too, so no wonder I was so ahead of the trend.

I'm wearing one pair in my blog post today BB! :0

i'm not sure if i could pull it off, being a hairline under 5'2! but i can pull off hunters wonderfully (which come up to my knees too)...so i might just have to give this a try

Hm... I think the more form-fitting, the better. When it's slouchy, like the one the model in the picture is wearing, it just makes your legs look thicker in a non-flattering way (tree trunk). I envy people with the legs to pull this off.

I just got some at Rue21 for $36. I love boots and over the knee ones are just so sexy~
#16 Megan (Homepage) on 2009-09-25 18:36 (Reply)
The problem I have is that few of these boots can fit over my meaty calves.

I really like the Charlotte Russe one that you posted, so I actually went to the store to check it out. The outer faux suede is really soft, but the overall material is so thin and made of cheap material! It's so thin that it feels like it's gonna break after a few times...I definitely wouldn't buy it after I saw it in person!

Im a sucker for boots, and I like this look as long as a) theyre flat and b) theyre not leathery/shiny... the high heel super shiny glossy leather boot screams slut when i see it!!
#19 amanda on 2009-09-26 14:49 (Reply)
I don't like the slouchy look at all, and would definitely go with a high heel since I have short legs. Which means suede is my only option unless I want to look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. My dream is to find some cute, versatile boots that have a folded-over top that I could roll up over my knee when I wanted the trend, and roll down when I wanted a classic look. But most I have found have a different fabric on the back side. :-(

I actually just picked up a pair of Jessica Simpson over the knee riding boots from VS and I can't wait for them to come in. Sadly they are backordered til' the middle of November so I'll be waiting! Love the first pick BB!

I just bought the flyest pair of over the knee boots in a gorgeous brown leather. They are flat and very comfortable (both at the foot and at the knee, you can't even feel them) they look absolutely amazing and I get so many compliments on them! This is a must have trend for fall- just awesome!
#22 Peaches on 2009-09-27 15:10 (Reply)
Love em! I bought two pairs at BAKERS, black and brown of the Barbie style. You can wear them three ways and they are having a big sale.

I am short and a little chunky and they still look good.
