Off the Rack: H&M Summer/Swim 2012

Yesterday I visited the H&M showroom in New York to check out the latest summer and swim collections which are in stores now. The benefit of visiting the showroom is that I have permission to photograph anything I please, and I am nothing if not thorough, combing through each rack, piece by piece, taking my sweet time, savoring the fabrics, textures, colors and well, you get the picture. All you need to know is that H&M has everything you need for a stylish summer, starting with this Memorial Day holiday weekend (do you have your outfits planned yet? I don't!). We're talking dayglow swimwear, tropical print coverups, embellished denim cut-offs, wedge sandals, floppy hats, clear plastic totes - basically everything to take you from a BBQ to the beach without missing a fashionable step. Hope you find some inspiration here, and if you'd like to see more of my photos from my trip to the H&M showroom, check out this album on my Facebook page.

As always, let me know which items are your favorite in the comments, H&M is listening too...

Off the Rack: The Webster at Target Accessories

Earlier I posted photos of the women's apparel from The Webster at Target collection, now here's a look at some of the accessories. I didn't see any shoes, unfortunately. But the bags, jewelry, scarves and straw hats that make up this Miami-inspired line were all plentiful. It's not because these items don't look good - they do - I just think they get lost amidst Target's other equally fun summer offerings from brands like Mossimo, Merona and Xhilaration. My favorite detail had to be a gold flamingo pendant which adorned two of the cool, casual totes in vibrant prints. More photos after the jump - did you pick up any Webster at Target accessories?

Webster at Target

I finally got around to checking out The Shops at Target in person and boy, was I impressed! The Webster at Target has some seriously cute offerings inspired by the Miami-based boutique. I had the chance to see them at a press preview months ago but it's different seeing them at an actual store, and I was pleasantly surprised by how full the racks were and by the wide selection of items.

The white eyelet dress and colorful navy and coral print shift (shown below) were two of my favorite pieces (you can't tell from the photo but they looked really nice in person). I could see either of these dresses working for a ton of spring/summer events, from graduations to bridal showers.

The breezy cotton tops had lovely embroidered detailing (close-ups after the jump) that rival tops at other stores that cost two or three times as much. I also loved the navy blazer, navy eyelet skirt, maxi dresses and geometric print wrap dress (which was unfortunately polyester - great for traveling since it won't wrinkle but awful for hot weather).

I didn't buy anything on this trip because I was too busy taking photographs, ran out of time and had to jet. But I'll be back to scoop up a thing or two.

Have you seen and/or shopped The Webster at Target? P.S. I was equally impressed with the accessories; I'll share those photos in a separate post.
