5 Under $50: Lou & Grey

Lou & Grey, a new affordable and stylish line from LOFT

I recently discovered Lou & Grey, a new line available at LOFT, and I'm smitten. It's a casual collection of loungewear-inspired dresses, tops, shorts, pants, rompers and jackets that feel effortless and relaxed but still cool and put-together. The palette is soft yet sophisticated neutrals, the silhouettes are easy to wear, and the prices are totally reasonable (everything's under $100). And right now seemed the perfect time to share a few of my favorite pieces because you can save 40% off with code MUSTSHOP. So keep reading for just a taste of the awesomeness that is Lou & Grey, then head to LOFT.COM to see the rest. You can also follow Lou & Grey on Instagram for an inside scoop on this soon-to-be-your-BFF brand.

Off the Rack: Spring Highlights at Old Navy

Cute spring dresses at Old Navy

During the holiday weekend, I hit up Old Navy to check out the new spring offerings. Everything in the store was 30% off - a deal that's still happening online at OLDNAVY.COM - plus they were giving $30 in Old Navy cash for every $50 spent. While this promotion is no longer going on in stores (at least not to my knowledge), there are still many reasons to head over to Old Navy: Let's start with the dresses. My photos don't really do these justice. All the pretty dresses in pink, white, and yellow looked really nice in person. Perfect for all those upcoming graduations and weddings, not to mention Mother's Day! I also saw a lot of amazing maxi dresses that will be perfect for summer. And for casual wear, lots of cute shorts and sandals to choose from. Some highlights for me included these silver wedges, this bucket bag, and this eyelet shift dress - all of which looked more expensive than they actually were. I didn't buy anything on this trip but my husband picked up some new clothes and we got some adorable items for my son, so I left with $60 in Old Navy cash that I look forward to spending soon. Yay, spring!

Romper Round-Up: 11 Cute & Cheap Picks for Summer

Cute & cheap rompers for spring

I had never been certain about the romper look in the past. I loved the idea of their uniqueness and playful vibe. But I was never sure if I could actually pull one off, and it didn’t help when people (males in particular) would express openly that they were not a fan of the trend. So, I would hang it back up on the store rack with remorse and feel sad that I couldn’t take the risk. Rompers have been one of those fashion trends that women either love or hate, embrace or cringe at the sight of them.

However, on a recent trip to Forever21, I found a romper with a pattern I fell in love with. I took it into the dressing room, put it on and was surprised at how much I adored it. So then I thought, “Who cares what other people think?” What matters is that I like it. Any Budget Babe and fashionista knows that this is true about any piece that might be slightly “out there,” whether it be clothing, a bag, or jewelry. It’s all about how you wear it! So if you have yet to brave a romper, I challenge you to give it another try with one of these cute options I’ve rounded up for you!

Alexander Wang is H&M's Next Guest Designer

Alexander Wang announced as H&M's next designer collaboration

Big news dropped this weekend: H&M announced that their next designer collaboration will be with New York designer Alexander Wang!! The collection will feature apparel and accessories for both men and women, and will hit around 250 stores worldwide and online November 6th, 2014. I hope there's a bag in the H&M collection that pays homage to the iconic "Rocco" bag - and if there is, it will go lightning fast and be incredibly hard to resist. I often see things at H&M that feel inspired by Alexander Wang already, which leads me to believe that some of Wang's signature elements - edgy jackets, drapey jersey tees and rounded shoulders - will translate well to this budget-fashion line. No doubt about it, the fashion world will go wild for this collab. Will you?
