Decorate by Number: Tropical Inspired Décor

Tropical decor inspiration

In my "Decorate by Number" series, I'm showing you how to get Pinterest-worthy decor looks for less! This week, we're heading to the tropics. For more home décor inspiration, visit my blog, A Vintage Splendor.

Although we’re half way through summer (boo!), you can bring the tropical vibes of the season filled with beach trips, vacations, and ice cream galore to your home year-round. The casual aesthetic of rattan and palm leaf wallpaper paired with rainbow hued pillows and accessories is great for those who love a casual feel with an eclectic mix of colors and textures and old with new. Tropical inspired spaces are definitely places where you can experiment with color, patterns, and off-beat pieces such as pineapple themed décor.

Off the Rack: Summer is Going Strong at Forever 21

Off the Rack: Summer Fashions at Forever 21

Summer's not over yet and the push at Forever 21 stores and online is to encourage shoppers to have their "Best Summer Ever." Whether it's at the beach or a backyard pool party, a road trip across Route 66 or up the coast, Forever 21 has fashions that will help you getaway and create some lasting memories. I was certainly feeling the vibe on my last trip to the store near me, where I picked up some amazing distressed denim cut-offs (similar styles here) from the Life in Progress line (more generous sizing and mature styles geared to 20- and 30-somethings), plus two breezy bohemian blouses with pretty embroidery (here's one), and a summery gingham button down. I also couldn't resist picking up a sleepshirt with the phrase "Pardon my French." They have the cutest loungewear! I honestly can't get enough Forever 21 lately, whenever I need a specific look or piece, they always deliver. You have to do some (serious) digging but it's so worth it. If you're a Forever 21 fan, too, you can join the conversation on social media with hashtags #F21xMe and #SummerForever.

Budget Beauty Buy of the Week: Yes to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser

Yes to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser Review

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products that are available online and in-store. Also make sure to check out my beauty and lifestyle blog, HonestlyJamie.com, for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

The Yes to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser is the ultimate cleanser for ALL skin types, but especially for sensitive skin. Guys, this stuff is not only great at taking off my makeup, but it’s also 98% natural, cruelty-free and only costs $9…you absolutely can’t beat this. The gentle formula combines soy proteins and green tea (both super calming) to cleanse your face, all while not stripping your skin of its natural moisture. This is a good thing, I promise.

The Look for Less: Isabel Marant Inspired Sandals at Target

By now you may be familiar with Isabel Marant's studded gladiator style sandals, most notably the "Carol" and the "Cole" (shown below). These sandals are available in a range of neutrals (tan, white, black) and retail for around $600-$1,000. Earlier I posted a look-a-like for the Carol (HERE) and the Cole (HERE) if you want to check those out.

Isabel Marant 'Carol' and 'Cole' sandals

While browsing Target.com, I came across two pairs of Mossimo sandals that instantly reminded me of the Isabel Marants: The 'Kat' block heel and 'Alani' flat. They are by no means exact copies, but definitely feel inspired by the trend that the French designer set:
