Actress and model Brooke Burke’s recent home makeover by Laurel & Wolf recently caught my attention. Not only because Laurel & Wolfe is an affordable resource for digital decorating advice and design, but the makeover consisted of utilizing Burke’s existing furniture and mixing in new accessories. The end result is a trendy retreat that is comfortable and stylish that will never go out of style.

For weeks now I've been seeing the cutest spring finds at Target's Dollar Spot on Instagram, and now my store finally has some of the items in stock! With Easter right around the corner (April 5th), I couldn't resist picking up loads of goodies for my son, from an adorable $1 fedora to some fun little toys. I love this magical age where he's just as enthralled by a big cardboard box as he is a shiny new dumptruck. Which means he'll FLIP for the bottles of bubbles, bouncing balls and other goodies I got for a buck a piece. It's cuteness overload these days! Of course Target has tons of "toys" for us grown-ups, too, like addictive organizing bins that you can use anywhere in your house, pretty notecards, chalkboard signs and my personal favorite, wooden paint dipped gift tags. Not sure when I'll use them but they were too lovely to pass up. So apparently there's a Moscow Mule craze going on - it's all over Pinterest, food blogs, you name it - and maybe I'm late to the party, but I've found a great Moscow Mule copper mug for you to use when you whip up this alliterative cocktail! P.S. While researching this post, I discovered that you can buy a set of the "real" mug by 10 Strawberry Street for just $38 at Target.com (so that's $19 per mug, versus $24 for one mug at Nordstrom.com). Options = winning!

The season of new beginnings is just around the corner, which means cheery get togethers, brunches, and outdoor dining. If there is ever a time to bring out the brights and patterns, it is now. It especially works when setting the table for casual Sunday brunch. Don’t shy away from mixing bright colors or bold patterns - the more the merrier! It creates a pleasant setting for an afternoon, plus it eliminates the need of stressing over fine china or giving up and opting for paper goods. Invest in key pieces that you can reuse again such as the blush plates and gold flatware, but remember you don’t have to spend a lot to make a stylish statement!
