The Look for Less: Fall Outerwear Edition

Look for Less: Fall Outerwear Essentials
For today's "look for less" post I decided to do a little something different and combine a couple options in one spot for your viewing pleasure! We all need layering pieces for fall that keep us cozy and stylish, and I've settled on these three picks as your must-haves for the season. If you don't buy anything else, at least consider these:

The Look for Less: Express Plaid Sequin Back Shirt

Express plaid sequin back shirt as seen on McKenna Bleu
If you missed out on the Express plaid sequin back shirt that everyone was wearing last fall (most notably on fashion blogger McKenna Bleu - see how she styled her shirt HERE), then you're in luck because now you can get the look for less at JCPenney. The sequin back shirt I found is by Arizona and comes in four colors for just $24.99! Do no be confused by my collage (above): The front and back of the shirt is the same color, they just don't show the sequins on all colors in the product details on jcp.com. (Did that make any sense?!) Any at rate, this plaid shirt makes a lot of sense for the stylish girl who wants to stand out from the plaid crowd, and the shining sequin detail on the back does just that. Scoop up your sequin back shirt HERE.

HIGH: EXPRESS SEQUIN BACK PLAID SHIRT (SOLD OUT)
LOW: ARIZONA AT JCP SEQUIN BACK PLAID SHIRT, $24.99 (down from $34)

The Look for Less: Mock Layer Sweater

The Look for Less: Mock Layer Sweater
Okay, I'm just going to give this one to you guys, no guessing necessary! Have you noticed the mock layer sweater trend this season? Designers are taking the guesswork out of layering by creating tops that look layered, but are really just fooling the eye. I love taking shortcuts in fashion (truly committed over here) so I love the idea of a two-in-one piece. You get the cool layered look without the bulk or bunching! It's a no brainer. I'm sold on the mock layer sweater and love the two options above. Simple yet chic and you can dress them up or down with different accessories. Are you a fan or would you rather do your own layering?

High: ASTR BOATNECK LAYERED SWEATER, $68 at nordstrom.com

Low: APT. 9® MOCK-LAYER CREWNECK SWEATER, $25 (down from $36) at kohls.com

Spot the Real: Saint Laurent Check Shirt

Can you spot the real Saint Laurent shirt?
You can never have too many plaid shirts, am I right? A Saint Laurent tartan wool check shirt is $890 at nordstrom.com (hey it's real wool after all). But head to Nordstrom Rack and you'll find a similar style shirt for just $33 (down from $64). See if you can spot the real from the steal by clicking a link below!

Spot the Real: Burberry Check Scarf

Burberry check scarf: Can you spot the real one?
Burberry's lightweight gauze scarf (wool/silk blend) is $395 at nordstrom.com. It's a classic, iconic plaid that never really goes out of style. I recently purchased my own "look for less" scarf at a small specialty boutique in Cape Cod because I was totally caught off guard by the typhoon-like weather. Sure, I expected rain and packed accordingly (sweaters, boots, trench) but thought, meh, I won't need a scarf, too. Boy was I wrong! Brrrr. So in a moment of desperation, I splurged on a Burberry-esque scarf ($28 is a splurge for me LOL! But I consider it a souvenir from our vacay, too). Anyways, I've spotted a great dupe for $25 elsewhere. See if you can spot it by clicking a link below!

P.S. You can find these on eBay.com, too, like this one for just $7.25.
