As another year comes to an end, it's time to look back at the top style influencers of 2016 - the celebrities who inspired our daily "look for less" recreations the most with their enviable yet attainable fashion sense. We crunched the numbers and these top 10 starlets and supermodels came out on top, from Alessandra Ambrosio's casual boho-chic sensibility to Gigi Hadid's edgy, envelope-pushing ensembles. This year we saw a re-imagining of schoolgirl style, simple silhouettes and plaid prints that are a major step up from the uniforms I was envious of as a child. The ombré trend is still in full swing and my favorite way to style it is by focussing on one statement item and coordinating the rest of my ensemble to accent the softer tones.

Here, Joan Smalls highlights her scarf by pairing it with matching shades of cream and light pink.
