Off the Rack: Spring Favorites at Target

See what's new and cute for spring at Target.

Yesterday you guys sent me on a shopping mission to Target (those are screenshots from my Instagram Story above), and at first I wasn't feelin' it but when I looked closer, I found a lot to love for spring! I tried to reign in my enthusiasm and focused on some key pieces you can add to your existing wardrobe to make everything look fresh again.

First make sure you have all the basics: Soft tees (I recommend getting one striped, one white, one blush pink and one camo print), a great denim jacket, some white denim (not the easiest thing to find but Target has great options in store), and a pretty dress that can take you from day to night. Then add something trendy like an off-the-shoulder top, a pair of tassel earrings (this pair looked great IRL), some studded gladiator sandals, or a cold-shoulder dress to keep things interesting.

Also, right now when you spend $75, save $15 online only at target.com! I've noticed Target has a lot more options online than in store, so definitely take a look if you haven't already. Keep reading to see my dressing room favorites and some notes on sizing and quality. What are you guys loving/buying/wanting at Target this month?

So What Do We Really Think of Victoria Beckham for Target?

Victoria Beckham for Target arrives April 9.
Yesterday Target released the complete Victoria Beckham for Target lookbook, a collection that includes more than 200 pieces for Women, Girls, Baby and Toddler, set to launch April 9th. Inspired by Victoria's daughter Harper, the collection is grouped into five categories (pressed English flowers, circus scallops, English lace, clever bunny and pop floral) and features playful mother-daughter looks with "soft pastels, bright pops of colors and charming prints."

Whenever Target releases a new designer collab lookbook, I tend to go a little crazy with excitement. But now that the dust has settled somewhat and I've had a chance to really examine the looks, I'm beginning to see things with my practical goggles...and things aren't as rosy.

When Target does a designer collab they rely on prints. Average shoppers, so I've learned over the years, tend to shy away from prints. But that's okay, because a designer collab is the perfect time to inject one or two fun print pieces into your wardrobe.

Average shoppers, myself included, also shy away from pieces that are sleeveless and/or shapeless. There are a lot of these qualities in the Victoria Beckham lookbook. You can certainly add a moto jacket to this bug-embellished dress or a blazer to this fuchsia top but sometimes it's nice to have sleeves.

And this lace shift is doing nothing to highlight the model's beautiful figure, so I'm not sure how flattering it'll look on me. At least it's fully lined.

Now the childrens' options, on the other hand, are absolutely adorable. I love this blush pink dress, this sage green dress, and this poplin tank and pant set is making me want to have another baby.

Overall I'll have to see this collection in person to really decide how I feel. I was lukewarm about the Who What Wear collection when the lookbook first came out but once I saw it in person, I fell head over heels in love. It's just rare to find any criticism of Target collabs from the major news sources so I'm curious to hear what you guys think - are you excited to shop Victoria Beckham for Target come April 9th? No doubt it will sell out fast either way...

Dollar Bin Diaries: Spring Has Sprung in the Target Dollar Bins

Spring has sprung in the Target dollar bins.
I shared all the adorable Easter goodness at Target in this post, and now I've got more photos of the latest spring-themed dollar bin finds to share with you! It is all so cute, you guys. From the "hello, spring" pillows to the "enjoy the little things" wall art, I think you'll find it hard to resist adding an item or two to your decor.

Other highlights include mini faux succulents that will look convincingly real in all your Instagram shots, some blue and pink ombre vases, plus adorable butterfly banners, wall decals, and string lights you could use for a spring fete (or to decorate a kid's room).

There's also lots of new finds for your outdoors space - you'll see a photo of the copper plant signs below, but there's more in-store. Everything's just $1 to $5, so be mindful of the pricetags because all this cuteness can start to add up if you're not careful...but we're all careful, aren't we!?

Let me know what you're buying/loving at Target lately in the comments!

Off the Rack: Design Love Fest Luggage at Target

Design Love Fest luggage lands at Target.
During my last trip to Target I noticed an end-cap display featuring a new luggage collection by Design Love Fest blogger Bri Emery. I've followed Design Love Fest on and off for years and can't even remember how I stumbled upon them, but their photography is always inspiring and I always have one of their free downloads decorating my desktop background!

The luggage collection is inspired by Bri's love of the color blush, simple designs and graphic details, she writes in this post which shows the bags in action in Hawaii. Maybe the bags don't look like much on the racks at Target but once you see her photos, you'll be craving this pink carryon with the prettiest Dalmatian spot interior #swoon. No more boring black suitcases; you'll be able to spot yours coming down the carousel at the airport from a mile away! I'm ready to ditch my Target x Missoni carry-on for one of these beauties. Also loving this cosmetics case, just $9.99!

Target also has their outdoor collection out so I snuck a few photos of that down below as well. Pineapple door mat anyone!?
