I can't appreciate this style - it looks not at all womanish! I like accessories in plaid much more than shirts.

After being very vocally anti-plaid for a long time, I am finally warming up to it, thanks to an adorable green and blue plaid shirt with metallic threads I found at NY&Co. I think it all depends on the style - a shirt should be tailored, or else you run the risk of looking like a lumberjack. Girly details like ruffles and the aforementioned metallic threads help too :-) Or, like Sally said, accessories if you're afraid to wear a big splash of it (like I was until very recently).

I have similar pieces & used this as my outfit inspiration for the day! I have a blue/white plaid buttoned up with ruffles instead & used black skinny pants instead of tights.

I've resisted plaid shirts (grunge scars from the 90's!), but I found a tailored one, tiny plaid print in dark pinks and grays... not so bad. Consignment store find and the label's cut out, so not sure who's line it is.
