Spring Fashion Trends 2010: Army Jackets

Trade your black leather jacket for a lighter though no less edgy piece of outerwear: The army jacket. In camo green or khaki, long or short, this versatile layering piece referenced on the runways of Rag & Bone, Balmain and Marc Jacobs (to name a few) will become your go-to coverup come Spring. The best part? This is one runway trend that can easily be realized in the real world. Find affordable army-inspired jackets at Gap, Madewell for Shopbop, American Eagle Outfitters and more. Browse my army jacket round-up below (and remember, more options will emerge as we get closer to spring!).

I'm so glad this trend has had a bit of staying power ... I got my army jacket off eBay last year and still adore it!

Ohhh I purchased a military jacket this fall, and it is one of my favorite pieces to wear. I think this upcoming season is going to be a mix of really feminine combined with borrowed from a boy tough. Like nude lace skirt meets military jacket paired with docs! can't wait for spring.
