Spring Fashion Trends 2010: Denim on Denim

Often cited as one of the worst fashion faux-pas, wearing denim with denim is actually the coolest way to wear this beloved fabric for Spring 2010. Ralph Lauren channeled the spirit of America's pioneers with his denim-on-denim ensembles, Jeremy Scott referenced the nineties, while D&G took a wild West approach to the trend. If you can't commit to this trend for fear of being mistaken for a farmer, you can still get inspired to wear denim in new ways come springtime: Consider picking up a fresh denim dress, skirt, blazer, vest or shirt. Here are some budget friendly pieces to get you started.

I am personally not a fan of denim on denim - it reminds me of the old lady outfit sets, or a midwest-meets-soccer-mom kind of awfulness. I am a bit sad it's coming back (but then again...was it ever there to begin with?).

You know that old saying that if you did it the first time around you shouldn't the second? So... I guess I'll just have to sit this one out. Darn. Not.

Very sad face :-(.

The denim on denim trend has been killing me - along with a multitude of leg shortening pant lengths. Can’t do it. But will sport just about any denim item on its own in a second! I'm thinking of a denim shirt dress.

I cannot get with this trend. A nice chambrey dress or skirt, sure...but not full head to toe.

Not feeling the denim-on-denim trend, but I got a belt just like the D&G model's at Target yesteday for $7. Love her boots too.

Yea.. i am not feeling this at all.. never liked it before, and can't bring myself to do it now. Reminds me of the Justin Timberlake/Britney Spears disaster they wore to some award show..the "fashion police" are still talking about it to this day! lol
