The 50's. I have always loved the look of that decade, jeans, leather jackets and poodle skirts.
#1 Candice Truett on 2010-02-02 12:33
My fav decade was the 1920s. The flattering cuts of the clothes back then really accentuated what a woman was working with. I also loved how understatedly sexy everything was.
#2 Cydney W on 2010-02-02 12:44
I am torn. The 50s are so classic - the perfect cinched waist and hourglass shape. Audrey Hepburn embodies all the perfection, delicacy and charm of 50s fashion for me. But, the 80s will always have a special appeal to me. Shoulder padded mini dresses and crazy bright colors. The extravagance and wackiness wins me over every time. Both are so great, I just cannot choose between the two!
#3 Sarah on 2010-02-02 12:52
My favorite fashion decade is definitely the 1950s. I love the glamor and feminine grace that the clothing evoked. Its the kind of classic clothing that will be trendy and flattering no matter what the changes in fashion are. Everything from the full skirts, the cinched waists, the delicate little gloves and purses and the shoes with just the right amount of heel is so charming and put together.

I am officially a fan on facebook.
#4 Athena on 2010-02-02 13:07
My favorite fashion era is the 50s and also the 80s. I love the timeless pieces of the 50s. Everything was so feminine then and that's the look I go for on a daily basis but I also love the 80s. The 80s are full of fun and trendy clothes. I like a mix of both!

I have been following you on facebook and twitter for a while now. :-)
#5 Robin on 2010-02-02 13:17
1950s! Hands down, it is my favorite fashion decade. With the introduction of swing skirts, pencil skirts, Peter Pan collars, shirt dresses and bolero jackets, it showed womens' hourglass figures. Love it for the classic styles, timeless glamour and beauty.
#6 Irene on 2010-02-02 13:32
I love the 20s..I love the flapper dresses and the cute hats and the great accessories. It was so free looking..
#7 Beth G (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 13:35
I always say how I wish I was a teenager in the 80's! My hair would have been great during that decade and I would have gone all out with the legwarmers and leggings!
#8 Jessica on 2010-02-02 13:53
For me it is all about the 1960s!! I simply love dresses and this era epitomizes them. From the classic shirtwaist dress to the fashionable day-dresses of the late 60s. My fashion inspiration is Jackie Kennedy, because she could wear most of her outfits today and they would still be timeless. The 60s still had the femininity of the 50s but also had shorter hemlines and more colors.

Already a fan on Twitter.
#9 Henriette on 2010-02-02 14:04
The 1940's, without a doubt is my favorite fashion decade. "Old Hollywood Glam" is just gorgeous and still totally wearable and relevant! Classic and chic.
#10 Beth S on 2010-02-02 14:05
Definitely the 80s but not too 80s lol. I love the bright colors and the different shapes and how everything seems to all go together. Tight/loose...it's all great together
#11 Liz on 2010-02-02 14:07
I love the 50's and the silhouette from that era.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I just finished watching Mogambo on TCM with Grace Kelly. She was so beautiful, so sophisticated and classy. Definitely a woman of the 50s, and the fashion of that era was the pinnacle of femininity and charm. Flattering for every woman, every shape.
#15 Claudia H. on 2010-02-02 14:17
Love the 50s for the lady like dresses, the 60's for the mod look and the 80's for crazy accessories.
#16 Jody Hickmott (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 14:26
I am going to have to go along with everyone else and say the fifties. Classic and timeless. How fashion should be.
#17 Laine on 2010-02-02 14:31
I love the 40s. The cute dresses and coats, the whole ladylike vibe from that period just gets to me. I love it. And the shoes! I love the shoes. And I follow on Twitter @prblms4loki!
#18 Christina on 2010-02-02 14:48
I love the 80's; the strong silhouette of the bright, punchy colours accompanied with bold, broad shoulders, and strong power suits all scream female power. I love that fashion was also an expression of femininity and female strength, all at the same time!
#19 Katherine on 2010-02-02 14:50
I love all vintage clothes, and 80's are so much fun, although my boyfriend hates it when I wear anything from then! :-) But my favorite has become the 70's, with the flow-y bohemian dresses, leather jackets and fab graphic patterns, it's easy going and can have a little rock and roll to it.
#20 Lynell on 2010-02-02 14:54
This bag is amazing!!
I would like to be in!
Right now, I love the 30s! All the structured shoulders and the style from Elsa Schiaparelli with the narrow waist often with a belt is so cool!

My favorite would be the 60's. Every week I just love the style of Mad Men and I think there is just so much to play with from that time.
#22 Kaitlin Graham on 2010-02-02 14:58
I'm lovin the 50s!
#23 Rebecca logan on 2010-02-02 15:10
It's so hard to pick one!! I think i'm between the 50's because of the futuristic style, and the change of an era!..

and the 80's! the big hair, the shoulder pads, and the fanny packs!!

thanks for the opportunityyy!!:-D
#24 Gabriela Sanchez (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 15:17
Love the 70's! The hippie chic bohemian style is definitely what I'm all about, mix in some 70's floral patterns and I'm all set!
#25 Heather on 2010-02-02 15:22
My favorite has to be the 20's. I think this was a time where women were being a bit rebellious. I think the 20s started a sort of liberation for women and a fashion revolution. They could be feminine and sexy through their clothes.
#26 Maria on 2010-02-02 15:31
I love the style of the 1950s because so much of it is timeless and can be easily worn in every decade.

I also became a fan on Facebook and a follower on Twitter!
#27 Chandra on 2010-02-02 15:34
I would have to say the 60's. I love the high-fashion mod look, as modeled by Twiggy.
#28 Megan on 2010-02-02 15:37
i love pieces from all the decades!
but, the classic feminine pieces of the 50s are my favorite, especially the dresses: my little black dress, mary elizabeth gown, seashells and sand dress, sweet meadows dress, oh so blue dress, and long hot summer dress.

1960s! I want Emma Peel's wardrobe!
#30 Crystal on 2010-02-02 15:41
the 80s! I love the neon colors and funky off the shoulder tops.
#31 Christie on 2010-02-02 15:46
Lately, I have been a big fan of the 1920's. I like the colors and the shapes of the clothing, and I have been going through a big obsession with 1920's style hair and hats.
#32 Sophie Adams on 2010-02-02 15:48
I love the fashion from the 20s -- flapper fashion was gorgeous!
#33 Erica on 2010-02-02 15:50
I love the fashion trends going on right now. I love how it encompases trends from other eras - like 80s - with florals and acid washed jeans. I'm also loving the skinny's with tall boots or flats. They tend to work well on all shapes!
#34 Dana on 2010-02-02 16:01
The 60s! Just looking at Mad Men costumes is enough to drool over!
#35 Liz (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 16:14
like several others, i am also torn: between the 20s and the 50s. the 50s were just MAD SEXY. i mean, is there any other era of clothing that accentuated so accurately the curves and beauty of what it means to be a woman? plus, we were modest and covered up to some degree, and it gave the men something to think about. the 20s are similar, though much more party-oriented. but the flapper style was gorgeous, the birth of shorter hemlines was all the craze.

also, i became a fan on facebook too! under kay wang - huzzzah, two entries!
#36 Kay W. (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 16:20
Love love love the 60s! Classic, powerful, elegant. Mad Men, anyone?
#37 Eliza on 2010-02-02 16:28
Definitely the 20's. I love vintage style clothing and jewelry and the women during this era were so creative and rebellious!
#38 Jen (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 16:29
I don't really have a favorite, but if I had to choose, it would be Renaissance fashion. It's so regal and beautiful, so artistic!
#39 L on 2010-02-02 16:39
I love a mix of the 70s meets 80s - not too crazy but still funky and makes a statement.
#40 Mariam (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 16:40
My favorite fashion decade would have to be the 1960's. There were lady-like looks that got mixed up with the Mod Twiggy-style counter-culture. Anything from that era you could wear today and look totally chic with only a minor tweak.
#41 SSF on 2010-02-02 16:42
I love the 50s, it's just such a classy time period for the ladies!
#42 AshleyOhio on 2010-02-02 17:04
I LOVE the 50's! The whole era seemed like it was just a loose giddy upbeat time, and it is reflected in the clothing!! The patterns are amazing and speak SUNSHINE!
#43 erykah Groff on 2010-02-02 17:31
My favorite time period was the early 60's because hollywood was much more glamorous and classy than it is nowadays.
#44 Laura on 2010-02-02 17:39
The 1920's because women were able to break out and go against the norm and express their sexuality out in the open.
#45 Jennifer on 2010-02-02 17:57
My favorite decades are the 1920s and the 1960s !
1920s were very heavily based on Parisienne fashions, and the introduction of the tea dresses to American women was during that time.
1960s is also my favorite because of the classic dresses people wore. People were just beginning to experiment with brighter colored fashions, while still keeping that classic look.

I'm a fan on Facebook ! :-D
#46 Melody Chang on 2010-02-02 18:07
Oh, so hard because I really love a little something from all decades. But I guess I always tend to go towards the 70s (and late 60s). I love the hippe boho chic look; it is always just so effortlessly cool.
#47 Ashley on 2010-02-02 18:09
The 1940's, without a doubt, because the style was sophisticated, chic, and very feminine. There was a sense of modesty and yet a subtle sexiness about it.
#48 Jessica A. on 2010-02-02 18:19
The 1950s are by far my favorite. I could wear those full-skirted dresses everyday!

#50 Kailee on 2010-02-02 18:36
So hard to narrow down, but I would have to go with the 1950s. I love the hair, the big skirts, and the makeup. I try to incorporate the hair into my style :-)
#51 vnssa906 on 2010-02-02 18:38
I was a teenager in the 70s, so I'm going to go with that decade. Blue jeans, fringe and of course a few peace signs and all was groovy!
#52 Patti on 2010-02-02 18:50
The 50s for me. Clean classic lines that never seem to go out of style.

Great giveaway!

#54 Nikki (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 19:31
I love the 80's, the fashions vary from romantic, to disco, and the colors are great. So glad to see these styles making a comeback.
#55 Carla McCarter on 2010-02-02 20:05
Love the 60's because of Jackie O's classic style: feminine, crisp, refined, and pretty!
#56 Cheryl lynn on 2010-02-02 21:01
My favorite decade is definitely the 70's because that's when my mom graduated high school and was my age and I love looking at old pictures of her and the way she dressed. I love the boho chic look and I try to incorporate it into my style and I look back at how my mom dressed to get inspiration.
#57 Kari on 2010-02-02 21:21
What a beautiful giveaway! :-)
I really want to say my favorite decade for fashion has been this past one - especially the recent years - we can virtually wear anything we want, borrowing from several decades at a time. If I had to pick one of the past though - it'd be the 1940s. Feminine, but tailored with a masculine edge.
#58 Phebe on 2010-02-02 21:26
What an awesome site! And an amazing bag!

I think I've always related most to the 70's. I love the shapes, nipped waists, funky styles and that freedom feeling!

I like the 50's. So ladylike!
#63 Leilani on 2010-02-02 21:59
love the 20's because the style is elegant, classic a touch of feminine and masculine. From the dresses to the hair. It was the beginning of fashion risks.
#64 diana on 2010-02-02 22:25
The 1920's. I love the pearls, layering of necklaces, great dresses and hats, and the style of hair and makeup then.
#65 Sarah on 2010-02-02 22:28
I love the 1920's! Just because it was probably the most revolutionary decade for women's fashion. Women dared to defy the rigid social status of their time. They dared to hike up skirts scandalously to the knees. They dared to cut their hair in a boyish manner. They dared to smoke and drink in public.

'The Flapper' look defines the era. The waist lines of the dresses dipped to the hips and braziers were worn to bind the breasts giving women a boyish look; a look that commanded power and equality with men.

Women like Coco Chanel paved the way so that we today do not have to dress for men but for ourselves.
#66 Sarah Sosa on 2010-02-02 22:29
Is this contest international?

Hmm what a tough question! I think at the moment I'm really into 80s fashion judging by the amount of leggings, oversized and 1-shoulder tops I'm wearing lately!
#67 MizzJ (Homepage) on 2010-02-02 22:44
My favorite fashion decade was the 60s! I still have tons of vintage pieces that my mother saved from her closet. My favorite style icon of that era is definitely Brigitte Bardot; she is an absolutely amazing singer and fashion icon.
#68 Andrea on 2010-02-02 23:20
The 80s, with its blazer, bold shoulder, sequin...looks so chic and casual! Love it
#69 Dian on 2010-02-02 23:25
silhouettes from the 40s are not only flattering on my pear figure, but also chic and feminine!
#70 chelsea on 2010-02-03 00:20
I love the 50's. I love everything about the classic silhouettes and graceful lines. Clothes were clean and simple, and who doesn't love a full skirt?
#71 Rachael (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 01:07
The 90's. That was my decade as I was a teen mostly and have fond and fashionable memories of those years!
#72 Roxanne on 2010-02-03 01:13
The 90's. I really like borrowing elements from the grunge style (combat boots?) and mixing it up with other pieces.
#73 Jodie on 2010-02-03 01:55
I love the 80s. I wish is was more sophisticated and liked the 20s or 30s but the 80s are glam and crazy.
#74 Carolyn on 2010-02-03 02:07
My favorite decade for fashion is the 1940s. I love seeing how fashion designers responded to all the restrictions, plus the slim skirts and blouses are so cute!
#75 Danalynn Coulon on 2010-02-03 02:42
The roaring 20's! Chic bobs and freedom from corsets! What's not to love? And what a change from the restricting traditionally feminine (corseted and swaddled with enough cloth to keep any woman at home) look that's been in for centuries before our jazzy sisters took matters into their own hands! Hurrah!
#76 Grace on 2010-02-03 03:42
Definitely the 70's. Besides the fact that it was the decade I was born in - I love the pattern, texture and bohemian vibe of it.
#77 Deb on 2010-02-03 07:43
1940s for sure! The red lips, classic elegance- think Jennifer Connellly in the rocketeer- that white silk gown she wear, or of course Rachel McAdams in the Notebook. Women were feminine, sultry and beautiful.
#78 Meredith (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 08:39
The 60's is fantastic. I already own so many pieces that fit right in -- who knew I had such a thing for that era? Also the cardigans from the 50's are pretty sweet. Love it. And love the give-away bag!! Thanks for the post!
#79 Michelle (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 09:22
Before going to the site, I would have said 40's automatically. After going through the Plus Size section I have to say 60's. I absolutely fell for the Strawberry Fields Dress 60s and the Penny Pingleton Dress 60s. I could see myself in those with cardigans, pearls and heels.
#80 Converting Me (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 09:25
I love the 50's! Poodle skirts; sweater sets, jeans! All are so classic!
#81 cc (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 09:26
The 70's were amazing, I love all of the breezy tops and bell bottom jeans. I still incorporate these styles into my wardrobe.
#82 Lindy on 2010-02-03 09:27
My favorite decade has to the be 80's, because that is when I grew up. I adore the freedom to wear bright colors, wacky patterns, and interesting accessories.
#83 Deirdre on 2010-02-03 09:32
I love the 80s because of all the over the top hairstyles and accessories which made the outfit as well such as high top fades, big door-knocker earrings and gold chains. They complemented all the bright cross colors and oversized jackets that people were rocking.
#84 Yvette on 2010-02-03 09:33
I will have to agree with the 50s as the best era for fashion- I love the cinched waists and accentuated curves! It's the type of fashion I veer towards today.

I also consider 80s fashion a guilty pleasure. The leather and denim mixes and everything related to 80s rock is appealing to me, although I can't dress that way myself with my figure!
#85 Andrea on 2010-02-03 11:41
I love the 80s because it was fearless & fun; styles seemed represent the hope, excitement and freedom associated with pursuing big dreams, if that makes sense! I am also a sucker for bright colors and leg warmers, which were plentiful in the 80s. I like to see 80s trends now reinterpreted in new and polished ways.
#86 rose on 2010-02-03 11:44
I didn't realize I would be in such good company here; I love 50's era clothing. The clothes then were built for women with womanly figures. A nipped in waist and plenty of room for hips and rump is idea for me!
#87 brittneynikkole (Homepage) on 2010-02-03 12:39
I love the 50s because it seems like you got to show off your waist with the majority of the clothing.
#88 Rachel on 2010-02-03 12:41
I like the 50s era. I love the full skirts and dresses. So classic!
Melanie
#89 Melanie on 2010-02-03 12:58
i honestly can't pick a favorite decade. i love to mix and match them all together. some days i feel very 20's and wild, others i'm definitely a pinup girl, occasionally i'm a 50's housewife, and then some days i go back to my roots in the 80's.
#90 Emily on 2010-02-03 13:54
In the winter I like to look crisp and polished, so I prefer the look of the '40s, but in the summer I feel more boho-chic, and I lean toward '70s styles.
#91 Shannon on 2010-02-03 14:11
70's...sexy, natural, earthy, easy.

I love the 1940s. Classic, feminine, glamor that is reflected in the silhouettes of the clothes. Fabulous!!!
#98 Annie on 2010-02-03 18:23
I adore the fashion of the 1920s and not because of the flapper girl style, the whole look of the 20s was glamour, glamour, glamour. So sophisticated and put-together, little matching hats with everything.

A close second is the 70s, because unlike prior decades the early 70s were all about casual, boho almost anything goes, up until the late 70s with the introduction disco - which was a whole other animal.

Each decade has its signature style, and each could represent a favorite in one way or another, but the beauty of the 20s wins out in my fashion heart
#99 Lori on 2010-02-03 18:34
The 50's. Everything looks so glamorous!

I love the 40's. The strong shoulders, the peep toe shoes, jumpsuits. An era where women left the home to help in the war effort. There was understated glamour and power in the dress clothes, and functional, yet feminine casual clothes.
#106 OR on 2010-02-04 08:14
My favorite is the roaring 20's. I love the frills and the outfits the flappers wore. You can get so much inspiration from that decade. I love sewing, even though i rarely have time nowadays, and i get encouraged everytime i look at past fashions. Some things never go out of style.
#107 Tahrer Khalil on 2010-02-04 09:03
I love the 70's (year I was born). I remember looking at pics of my parents with their afros, bell bottoms and retro looking styles. It's funny how both styles have re-appeared.
#108 Teresa on 2010-02-04 10:59
I love the 1940s. The fashion back then always defines "glamour" for me!
#109 FaithJ on 2010-02-04 15:53
The 30's--it was a tough decade and people responded with fashionable dignity and grace. Clothing supported a ladylike figure and appearance. The hats were fabulous.

80's! Gotta love that decade. First thing that pops up in my mind is Flash dance. Jennifer Beals looks beutifull. Her oufitts from leg warmers to her cut off shirts are just RAD! She als has awesome big hair!

I would have loved to grow up in the '50s. Nothing to worry about., and the fashion was so cool. The leather jackets, and poodle kirts with pom pom socks. Love it.

1960s is my favorite decade ..since I grew up in the 1970s, alot of the fashion was so close to the 60's.. its so funny we called the hip huggers with the "wide" bottoms "Elephant Legs" lol. there was a free spirit feel to the clothes and also a 'Rebellion' to the clothes and hair.. love love the 1960s!!

There is something so futuristic about 1960's Mod fashion. I love the wildness of it all.

I would have to say the 60's because it stood out the most. and it made a bigg impression on lots.
No one person has that same style or wore the same dress diffrently. every girl each had there own unique style and i love it. how even if 2 people wore the same dress. it wasn't the same dress at all with the way they wore and what they wore with it..

While I like the 50s too, I like the 40s even more because of it's masculine touch (wide shoulder pads and men's trenches).

I love 20's fashion. It was so classy, yet scandalous. The hair and accessories were sooo cute! Besides, every woman loves pearls and sequence.
