Off the Rack: Spring Fashions at Marshalls

Faux leather jacket in gray, $29.99. Fit great and felt surprisingly soft!

Last week I wrote about spring fashion trends at TJ Maxx, and today I have a few highlights from my trip to Marshalls and the adjoining Shoe Megashop. In the bag department, I spotted a cherry red cross-body bag in soft leather by MICHAEL Michael Kors which I recognized from an online sale at Rue La La just days earlier. Similar styles sell for about $160 at Macy's; the Marshall's price was $79.
Always on the look out for vegan-friendly bags for friends, I spotted several chic bags by Urban Expressions which say "vegan certified" on the tags, affordably priced under $40. Other highlights included genuine leather bags by B. Makowsky in summer ready neutrals like camel and white. Moving on to shoes: Flat heaven! Yes, there were sandals and heels in stock, but what really stood out were the affordable flats by brands like Nine West, Me Too, MIA and Miss Me (I always mix those three up). Just cute, embellished flats you could wear to work or on the weekends, most under $50. I also checked out The Cube (the rebranded juniors section) and found some faux leather jackets for $29.99 in on-trend colors like gray, white and blush. Top one over a white tee and designer jeans and no one will be the wiser.

Seen anything good at Marshalls recently?

I saw this MICHAEL Michael Kors leather cross-body bag recently on Rue La La, too. (They sold out fast!) Can't remember who had it cheaper, but this one was $79...

Urban Expressions bags are "Certified Vegan" and they look great! This one was just $39.99.

Black is always in! B. Makowsky makes consistently luxe-looking genuine leather bags which you can get at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for around $100.

Another B. Makowsky bag in a great caramel leather hue, on clearance for $119. (Still had the original pricetag which read $278.)

Soft colorful scarves by Cynthia Rowley just $15 each!

Lacoste moccasin platform heels, $69

My Marshalls Shoe Megashop had a half-dozen styles of genuine leather flats by Me Too for just $34.99. Very comfy, low profile yet adequate arch support and cushioning. Love!

Nine West leather flats in a yummy yellow shade, $34.99 (also in black). Great way to add color to a neutral look.

Faux leather jacket in blush, $29.99

Faux leather jacket in white, $29.99

I cam SO CLOSE to nabbing that gray jacket ... but the sleeves were incredibly long on me. Sigh.

Who made the leather jacket and which area Marshalls were you at? I was just at a Marshalls and did not see those jackets but I would love to find one! Thanks!

Last time I was there I got some great C&C California t-shirts, a shirt from Velvet and some Guess sunglasses. Their prices are so great!

Who makes the faux leather jackets? I love them! I don't have a Marshalls near me unfortunately... (sigh). I'd love to try and find them somewhere else or possibly at TJ Maxx. Let me know if anyone finds out the designer name!

I am in LOVE with B. Makowsky bags. They are all so gorgeous.

I've only been to the Marshall's near me on one occasion during the week of Christmas so by the time I got there everything was gone and what was left was either picked over too much or not worth buying. Based on these images though it looks like a good place to find some good deals if you take the time to look.

Does anyone know the best times to shop at that store? I'm in New York City if that helps.

I agree the faux leather jackets look really soft and supple in the pics, they actually look real, I haven't been to a marshalls in a minute but I am definitely going to try to make a trip to one this coming weekend and add to my spring wardrobe!

I'm in Indianapolis and the east side Marshall's had the faux leather jackets in all three colors featured here, they have since sold out.

The original price tags show the MSRP. Even Macy's, Bloomingdales, etc. would offer a discount off of that amount during sales or with coupons. The Marshall's "Compare At" price is determined by Marshall's (MarMaxx) itself.

The Marshalls "compare at" prices are on average much lower than the MSRP because they do take what you said into account -- and they know shoppers are smart. They'd much rather you find out the jacket you bought was actually $20 MORE than the "compare at price" at Macy's or some place than to find out it was actually $20 LESS and be disappointed. It's still the psychology of shopping but good to know :-)

I got a Michael Kors tote for $100 there. The only one. Best thing is, I could put it on layaway!

Does anyone know the brand of the faux leather jackets?

I usually photograph the tag as a reference but forgot to on these. I'll try to check next time I go!

I love taking pics at Marshalls & TJMaxx too :-) In fact I think I took one of the bow metal stud ballet flats and posted on my blog last week ^^
