Exclusive Summer Capsule Collection Presented by Lucky Magazine and HSN

Exclusive Summer Capsule Collection Presented by Lucky Magazine

Lately it seems like every designer on the planet is teaming up with a home shopping network to create a diffusion line, and now Lucky Magazine has teamed up with HSN (Home Shopping Network) to present a capsule collection of fashions from some of these designers, which you can shop today via Facebook (fan Lucky Mag or HSN, then click on the Pop Up Shop tab).

The designers include F+C (by Foley + Corinna); Thread (by Thread Social); La Victoire (by Pour La Victoire footwear); Pade Vavra (nature-inspired jewelry) and Gerard Yosca (statement-making costume jewelry).

You know I love the idea of affordable collabs, and I like the novelty of a Facebook pop-up shop, but I still think both HSN and QVC are overpriced, despite their growing popularity. What do you think, are you ready to drop $250 on a Lucky Magazine-approved F+C bag from HSN? Am I being too cheap?

I'm a big fan of both those brands, too, so I will reserve judgement until I see them. Here's more info from HSN about when that stuff will become available:

"Next Wednesday, May 19 at 12PM, 4PM, 7-8PM and Thursday, May 20 at 3AM, 9-10AM and 1PM is the on-air debut of the complete Summer Style: Designer Event Presented by Lucky Magazine. ALL product including the launch of the latest, most covetable creations from favorite HSN brands: R.J. Graziano, American Glamour Badgley Mischka, V by Eva, RK by Ranjana Khan, Completely Me by Liz Lange and many more. Additionally, the complete Exclusive Summer Capsule Collection Presented by Lucky Magazine will be available at HSN and HSN.com."

I'm with bb
HSN and QVC way over-priced.
It's nice to see them offering items from my fav. 'bop and Revolve designers but the prices are nothing to shout home about.
Also it seems to me they are asking $$$ for designer's secondary lines. Case in point: Rebecca Minkoff's Minkette offered up a clutch MSRP $125. Great price for Minkoff, terrible price for 2nd tier Minkette fabricated in vinyl.
Personally I'd rather shop the sales at my favourite boutiques than HSN or QVC's "designer" offerings.
BTW, currently Libby Edelman is on HSN; some cute shoes but...
A little bit of sleuth shopping and you can find a better quality shoe for far less money (and no exorbitant shipping fee)
IMO:
QVC and HSN
"C" for effort
"F" for execution

Agreed. If I'm going to drop $200+ on a new bag, I'm hitting up TJMaxx and getting a Michael Kors.

Naw, you aren't being cheap. You're the Budget Babe, and your superpower is thriftiness! lol I can't really justify spending that much on a bag, either.

you're not being cheap; HSN, despite the collaborations, is where I'd look for good deals on costume jewelry. (ie: under $30, not that $100+ cuff). Textile items I've purchased (a hat, scarf, and sundress) just didn't look that great in person.

I guess if i'm going to spend $200+ on a bag I want the feeling of going to the store, touching it and making sure it's really made well. However, I can't spend over $50 on any clothing item at Target either.

Word. HSN is good for some things. This isn't fashion related but I'm really loving this couch from the Nate Berkus collection!

i totally agree about the handbags. At the $200+ price point ther eare so many options including a lot of line at full retail price. I'd be worried about the target effect where the photos look so much better than in real life.

Nope, you're not being too cheap. I'd much rather have a great-looking knock-off than the over-priced originals.

Not at all! According to Sarah Gray Miller of Country Living - the new luxury isn't a logo hand bag anymore. ;-) If $250 isn't in your budget, there are so many other stylish, quality bags you can get under $100!
