Off the Rack: Essie Special Collection Nail Polish At Ulta

Essie Wedding Collection 2010

A big beautiful Ulta recently opened near my home and while I would be well advised to avoid that store at all costs and hold onto my hard-earned money, it's absolutely irresistible and filled with countless beauty supplies I never knew I needed! One of the most exciting aisles at Ulta has to be the nail polish, they have dozens of brands and colors that you won't find at the drugstore, including all of Essie's latest spring/summer special collections: Summer, Wedding and Resort.

I didn't buy any on this trip because I have purchased so many polishes already this season, but I think I'll go back for the Resort "Lapis of Luxury" blue and the Summer "Pretty Edgy" green—two colors I don't already own that would be perfect for summer! Which Essie polishes have you purchased lately? Which do you love, need, crave?

Shown above: Essie Wedding Collection 2010: BBF Best Boyfriend (a classic creamy mauve), Main Squeeze (a shimmering lilac cream), Petal Pink (a sweet and subtle creamy pink), Pillow Talk (a sheer and sultry nude), Show Me The Ring (an iridescent pearl), Walk Down the Aisle (a fresh and creamy white). $8 each.

Essie Summer Collection 2010

Essie Summer Collection 2010: Demure Vixen (iridescent cocoa mauve), Haute as Hello (racy, scorching coral), Miss Matched (sweet, sheer, ready for anything pink), Pretty Edgy (vivid palmetto green), Vermillionaire (heart pounding red orange)

Essie Resort Collection 2010

Essie Resort Collection 2010: Lapis of Luxury (a dreamy ocean blue), Playa del Platinum (an elegant and sheer sandy gray), Splash of Grenadine (a playful magenta pink), and Turquoise & Caicos (a flirty and pretty tropical aqua).

Essie polish is the best. Plus, right now at Ulta they're buy 2 get 1 free! I just got all of my bridesmaids a bottle from the wedding collection.

I know the feeling, maybe leave your credit card at home and just bring a small amount of cash (I'm totally serious!)

Am I the only one who doesn't like Essie? The ones I've tried come out so watery... the polish just doesn't seem to hold for me like OPI. Shame b/c Essie has some really pretty colors!

I have loved Essie for a while, but recently it seems like something is up with their polish consistency to me as well. The last two bottles I purchased have been thin and streaked horribly when applied. My latest purchase was Splash of Grenadine, and while I adore the color, it is a nightmare to try to make it look even halfway decent on my nails.

I adore Essie. They have every shade you could ever want...and even shades you didn't know you wanted!

It's the wedding collection for me! All those shades would go so perfectly with this season's nudes and pale tones.
