5 Under $50: Ankle-Cuff Sandals

Street style examples of how to wear ankle cuff sandals

At first glance, flat ankle-cuff sandals would appear to visually chop legs off. But I've seen stylish girls wearing these all over the streets of New York City and the look is really starting to grow on me! The trick is to pair them with short-shorts or minis, so legs still look long while the edginess of the sandal keeps things stylish rather than vampish. Alternatively, you can wear ankle cuff sandals with cuffed boyfriend jeans or cargos, but I find this works best when the cuff of the shoe is tight around the ankle, almost like a thick strap. If you're feeling this trend, keep reading to see 5 online options under $50.

Wow those are some stylish girls, but not enough to convince me! I love thin strappy sandals too much!

I bought a beautiful pair of flat ankle-cuff sandals this spring that I haven't dared to wear out because of the way they chop off my already short legs. But this post has made me a believer! I'm wearing mine out today!!! Can't wait!

The five examples posted look gorgeous. Kudos to the three ladies shown above on their great style.

P.S. BB,
Although I enjoy "Celebrity Style" posts, it would be nice to see "What people are wearing on the streets" posts... like this one!!! Liked very much.

I forgot to add...
My pair are a tan color very similar to the color of my skin. Maybe this lessens the "shortening" effect...

I've been seeing this trend all over the place and it does give any outfit a cool, edgy vibe. I think you could apply the same principles to these sandals as you would booties. The F21 pair are quite cute!

I don't really like these actually. They're not terrible, but they do make legs look much shorter. Plus, a lot of the shoes are made of (faux) suede, which means some really sweaty ankles here in the south! I think the DSW ones are okay though.

What's the effect for gals with cankles - are they gonna make'em more or less noticeable?

BB,

I bought a beautiful pair, much like the first girls, at Marshalls two weeks ago! They are my dollhouse, they are black pleather with the side strings, and most importantly- were only $19.99! I love them and I stand at an awesome 5' 2".

This is so helpful always stayed away from ankle cuff sandals, since I thought I couldn't pull them off. Thanx

I've been on the fence about ankle-cuff sandals, but I'm loving the pair from Dollhouse so I might have to give them a try.
