First of all, I love your blog and I am so excited to have seen this giveaway! I really enjoyed the video.

I LOVE the American Living Eyelet Skirt, in white. I would wear it to the beach on a sunday, take a walk on the boardwalk and then a big family BBQ in the evening. Paired with a light floral top (like the American Living Squareneck) it is the perfect summer day to night outfit!
#1 Rebecca on 2010-07-19 11:21
I love the Patch Skirt!

I would wear it for a family picnic in the park, or a baseball game! Nothing says summer and American Living like baseball!! :-)
#2 Beth (Homepage) on 2010-07-19 11:26
Okay, so this is probably not what you had in mind when you said "pick your favorite piece" & "how would you wear it"; but I love the PJ section! Haha :o).

I love the American Living Short Sleeve Sleep Tee & Short Robe. I would throw on the short robe over my sleep tee on weekends. On weekends, we like to get up a little later than usual and actually put together a real breakfast (as opposed to a breakfast bar-to-go): Fruit and yogurt, nutella on toasted bread, potato omelet, and so on. There's also the cappuccino, and homemade mango smoothie. And then we take all of this, still in our sleepwear, and sit outside on the patio when it's sunny out. This is such a peaceful, welcome moment that we look forward to after such a stressful week.

And that would be my made for moment :o). Not quite as seemly as, say, real day-clothes, but it's heaven for me!
#3 Claudia H. on 2010-07-19 11:34
AI would pick the American Living Tiered Sheath Dress-Black. I am going to a wedding in November to be a bridesmaid and we are supposed to pick our own LBD and I think this dress is perfect! I would wear it with my Chinese Laundry platform pumps and accent with some turquoise jewelry.

I'm loving the sweetness of the American Living Eyelet Skirt. I've been looking for a classic white skirt that's full enough to wear on my cruiser. My moment: It's peddling with my hubby to Sunday brunch in my eyelet skirt.

My made for moment: heading to a sunshine-filled park or beach with a blanket, my bulldog and my husband for a Sunday picnic. Since I'm expecting a baby, a fashionable carry-all is a must in my near future! There is nothing like a classic hobo bag in a bold color.

PS...how cute are you in that video? You did a fantastic job - congrats!

The American Living Tiered Midriff Dress (in White) is cuuuttte! It's a very versatile and simple dress--just my style--that can be easily paired with flats or heels or a jean/leather jacket or a cardigan.

I would wear it on a weekend, no special weekend, just a weekend. One that I could relax on, hangout with my friends, go shopping, or just take a walk through town.

That's my "made for" moment (weekend) outfit.

Thanks for the giveaway chance! Great blog!!

#29 Dina's Days (Homepage) on 2010-07-19 15:51
The "American Living Floral Print Skirt" (the one in mostly black) looks like it's made for going from the office to the dance floor... at least my kind of dance floor, where the dances are waltz and swings. Maybe not for the clubs. ;-) That, and the Sleeveless Gingham Shirt looks like it's for looking cute on lazy summer days, relaxing by the pool with a cold glass of iced tea. :-)
#30 Sandra on 2010-07-19 16:19
For my friend's wedding, I'd wear the American Living V-Neck Empire Dress-Eggplant. at work, I can picture wearing this with some boots too.
#31 lise on 2010-07-19 16:30
My favorite piece is the American Living Skirt, which is a black/red multi patchwork pattern, in an A-line cut. It would be perfect for a picnic in the park, and a long walk afterward if worn with just a V-neck tee and some strappy wedges. Maybe some wooden bead accessories to pull it all together.
#32 Jessica on 2010-07-19 16:46
I love the American Living V Neck Dress in Eggplant. I would wear it with black heels and silver jewelry.

The description says, "Go from office to romantic dinner in this flattering matte jersey dress." That's exactly what my "made for" moment would be about. I'd wear it to work on a Friday then head off to a nice dinner with my boyfriend. :-)

My made for moment involves coffee, but that usually happens in the afternoons for me. My husband and I have a standing coffee date around 3 pm nearly every day and we are often joined by our great friend and her 2 year old daughter, who is our god daughter. It is definitely the best part of my day!

This skirt would be perfect for the hot summers in Virginia and casually having a vanilla latte!

I really like the American Living Tank Top (in pink). Cute and simple - I would wear it to a summer dinner with the in-laws. It's really difficult to find a flattering tank that you can tuck into clothes for a more polished look. The neckline also lends itself well to necklaces
#59 Jo on 2010-07-20 06:32
Oh, I would love to wear the eyelet peasant top with a wide belt and a long flowy skirt. And big hoop earrings! And heels! Very Sophia Loren!
#60 Ursula on 2010-07-20 07:44
I practically live in skirts during the summer. They're cooler and more comfortable than pants (especially jeans), so I gravitated to the American Living skirts. The Floral Print Skirt is kicky, in its fullness, fresh in its mix of florals, and still manages a little sophistication in its black background.

I'd wear it with a crisp white shirt and red strappy high-heeled sandals to a gallery or exhibit opening. Once a month throughout the summer, our town holds Gallery Strolls. Art gallery owners schedule openings on the same Friday evening. It's a great evening out: seeing new artwork and catching up with friends. I'd feel very cool and confident in this outfit.
#61 Clara on 2010-07-20 08:08

#87 teresa on 2010-07-21 08:52
Our favorite activity as a family during the summer is going to the beach - walking on the pier, playing in the sand - it's all wonderful and free! The AL cropped pant in khaki would blend well with the sand, but it'd look fabulous with the black halter top (for more sun exposure) and a cross body bag for snacks for the kids.
Thanks BB!
#88 Cyndi on 2010-07-21 10:39

I would wear the white denim capri pant and roll sleeve shirt on vacation in August. We're going on a cruise and this would be a perfect dinner outfit for those slightly cooler nights at sea. I would wear it with a pair of bow earrings and blue striped espadrilles.
#91 J.H. on 2010-07-21 12:08
I would wear the black and khaki striped henley with the black pockets and pair it with the khaki cropped pants. I'd probably finish it off with my black flat sandals and dangly earrrings. I love cute but comfortable clothes so it would be my go-to outfit for running around town with my 2.5 year old.

American Living Mock Up dress in Grape. Purple is my favorite color, and I love to find any awesome new purple dresses! I'd definitely wear this to work functions, so I don't blend in with the sea of black.

I would wear the solid ruffle top in grove orange paired with my army green boyfriend chinos, tan wedges on my feet and wooden and gold bangles on my arm. That is a typical outfit for me while I run around with my 2 boys this summer:)

I am, like a few others, a hoarder of Little Black Dresses. I can't get enough of them. However, I've been on the lookout for one that could take me from day to night time with minimal effort. This is where the "Gathered Empire Waist Dress" comes into play. I can top it off with a crisp white blazer or a colorful cardigan, a great statement necklace (J.Crew F `10 anyone?), and a pair of kitten heels and I'm off to work. Once the sun sets, goodbye layers and hello to some strappy heels, smokey eyes, and the boyfriend/ a great group of girlfriends.

Great give-a-way once again!

My Favorite: American Living® 'Bradford' Tote

Doubles as a great catch-all purse AND a summer beach bag.

Clothes dont always fit but a great bag does!

American Living Tiered Sheath Dress-Black is my choice!

I need to get some more "adult" looking clothes to network for fancy events during the summer. I think this dress would make me feel sexy and confident. Plus, it look pretty hot at a dinner our with the Mr. Melissa :-)
#105 Mel on 2010-07-24 17:30
I love peasant tops, as they make me look slimmer and can go with almost anything!

My favorite from American Living is the red Print Peasant Top. It can be dressed up with a black skirt and pumps for the office or dressed down with jeans and flip-flops for a day out shopping. It's versatile and comfortable.
#106 Martina on 2010-07-24 18:40

I would wear the American Living Button Down skirt in black to the office with a knit top tucked in and espadrilles or some killer peep toe sandals. I might also wear it a casual dinner out with the girls paired with a slub knit v-neck t-shirt and flip flops. I might even wear a army green military jacket with it too to play off the buttons. The buttons down the front make this skirt a very versatile and timeless piece!

My husband and I finally (after 8 years!) have very similar work schedules, which means we can go on date nights whenever the mood takes us! I think the Jersey Gathered Dress in Eggplant was "made for" throwing on when I need to get fancy, even if it's just to go to the second-run theater or a diner!

I'd wear the yellow ruffle henley while chasing after my littler toddler. It makes my day when she enjoys our play so much that she giggles.
#125 Fia (Homepage) on 2010-07-30 01:22
My favorite piece from American Living for JC Penny is the black multi-color Floral Print Skirt. It's a great piece that can transition from being paired with a simple cardigan and black pumps for work, to being paired with pink ballet flats and a tank top for strolling with friends and enjoying lunch in the park. The colors within the piece make it very versatile, and the skirt looks like it would make for a great fit on all different body types!

That would be my moment, made for picnicking by the pond!
#126 Brenna on 2010-07-30 11:41
I love the ruffled henley! My Made for moment would be wearing it with my favorite (slightly ripped up) jeans for a cozy Sunday reading the newspaper with a big mug of tea, my doggie in my lap, and my husband on the couch next to me.
