Off the Rack: Dolce Vita for Target

Dolce Vita for Target

If you follow me on Twitter, then you already know that I went to Target earlier today and saw four styles from the new Dolce Vita for Target shoe collection, an incredibly hush-hush collaboration that a few readers tipped me to weeks back but I couldn't find any info about it and no one was sayin' nothing! Oh, Target, you temptress. So I kinda wanted all four pairs: A lace-up black boot (side zipper so you don't have to fuss with the laces), buckle ankle boot, studded ballet flat and black oxford flats, ranging from $29.99 to $34.99. But when I get overwhelmed with desire, I try to step back and assess, "What do I really need?" So I summoned up all my willpower and left empty handed. I have no fear that these shoes will sell out immediately (other shoppers seemed none too impressed) so I will return in a few days with a sound mind and make my purchase(s) then.

Have you shopped the line yet? Which pairs are you eying? Click through to see real-life photos of all the Dolce Vita for Target shoes I've spotted so far!

UPDATE:
I went back and bought the Buckle Ankle Boots and Lace-Up Boots. I've worn both extensively and find them to be very comfortable. They're holding up well.

I saw some different studded flats at the Target by my house earlier this week! I can't remember which line they were from, but I know it wasn't Dolce Vita. They were flats with a wooly-denim material so definitely not wet weather friendly, but they looked comfortable and super cute! Studded flats and bags are making a huge trend this year!

I love the oxfords! They're super cute and I like this version minus the studs! I have to stop by my local Target and see if they have these!

I love the lace up boots! The studded flats are pretty, too.

I googled this and it said that the collection is opening at the new East Harlem store and will not hit others until Aug 22.
Did you find this at a regular target?
I don't want to wait till Aug 22...

Check eBay!

If you like the flats, possibly check by the closest old navy for a very similar pair! Last time I saw them, they were $10!

I love dolce vita, but the target line is rather disappointing, although the lace up boots are rather cute!

Oh. My. God!

Those flat boots and oxfords are EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I'm going over today! :-)

I got my lace-up boots from the collection about two weeks ago or more (the Target near me must have had them out earlier or something) but I loooove them. I've wanted a knock-off for Doc Martens, but these are better. They're less chunky of a shoe, which is more my personal taste.

Are the lace up boots from the dolce vita collection true to size? i read somewhere that the oxfords and ankle boots ran half a size large.
#14.1 Emmily on 2010-07-25 00:19 (Reply)
Just got the lace-up boots, and actually went a 1/2 size smaller. Normally wear between 7-7.5, and so I went with a 7. They are amazing, but the only watch-out is that the calf zipper is super snug, and I'm petite.
#14.1.1 katie on 2010-07-25 12:12 (Reply)
They are soooo adorable... unfortunately my Very Picky Princess Feet will probably not be able to wear them... as with most cute shoes. ;_;
#15 Sandra on 2010-07-25 04:38 (Reply)
just ordered a few online (hope to keep one)! but they won't be coming until august 12th or longer. they're all online atm. not in stores for me.

At first I was meh on these shoes, but when I saw the last shot of you in those lace-up boots, I went wow! Now I'm convinced.

I was thinking of getting these, but someone mentioned to go a 1/2 size smaller. My feet are somewhat wide. Are these a bit tight at the toes? I'm small/petite, so sometimes boots can overwhelm my legs. I wear a size 7 usually.

I did buy the black harness boots at Target when they were around and I ended up sizing up like The Budget Babe mentioned (thanks btw!) Love those boots!

Thanks in advance for the advice!

None of these are my style, so now I don't have to break my neck to find out where they are selling them like did over those Cynthia Vincent wedges. I'll let my nieces know though because they are really not into heels. Also Aldo is doing a joint-venture with JCP and bringing their shoes into their department store. This is good news because their shoe department needs some major help. Also I'm not feeling how sneaky Target is getting about releasing these type of collabs.

Those are actually cute. I'm not into boots like that but i like the ones you are pictured in.

How good of a quality are the boots? that's what I'm wondering...Tempted to get either the lace ones or the buckled ones
#21 Mel on 2010-07-29 19:14 (Reply)
I really wish they would have done a tall boot and a more feminine bootie. I like the lace-up boot the best. Also wondering how the quality is in person.
