Spot the Real: Marc Jacobs 'Karlie' Quilted Bowler

The glossy Marc Jacobs 'Karlie' Quilted Bowler retails for $1,295 at CUSP, but one of our favorite mall stores has created a similar style bag that costs $68. Scroll down and take a look at the two bags in question, then click an image to see which bag's real and which bag's a steal!

I still don't understand how anyone can spend $1,000+ on a bag! But the good thing is that I picked correctly the first time.

I think the Express version looks better. I've seen a number of Marc Jacobs and other high end bags up close, and I don't know if maybe the quality of the craftsmanship has gone down but that stuff looks really cheap. I don't understand how some can justify spending so much on a designer bag when a lot of them look like they are made of PVC lately. I think they're all being made in the same factories in China that manufacture the cheap brands (with material that isn't much better) and then the final products are shipped to Europe so that they can sew on a "Made in Italy or Paris" tag to make it look rich.

Yeah, I gotta say, I prefer the Express bag!

Have to say, I agree with the crowd - the Express bag looks better. The straps appear sturdier and I like the chain details better on the Express bag.

Like Deepa said - why spend $1000+ on a handbag - it's ludicrous!

Sometimes a good picture can play a role in this. A good lighting for example can have an effect of luxuriousness. Having said that, I'm not saying Express handbag will look cheap in person nor do I condone buying a $1000 bag.

I honestly guessed wrong they are both so close looking! If I had to choose I would go with the cheaper purse, just because of the price of the other!
