Unforgettable Moments Nail Lacquer in Sugar Plum

Unforgettable Moments Nail Lacquer in Sugar Plum Review

One of my favorite nail polishes at the moment comes from an unlikely place: Payless! As I reported earlier, Payless has launched its own beauty line including nail polish by Unforgettable Moments. I picked up a bottle of Sugar Plum ($2.99), a deep purple polish with a classic high gloss finish, and I absolutely love it! Picture the deepest purple hue in a slice of blueberry pie, and that's the color you'll get with this polish.

Shown above, you'll see the great coverage you get with just two coats. The brush is on the narrow side and delivers the polish nicely although I'd prefer a tapered brush a la Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. In terms of wear-and-tear, I made it about two days before this polish started to chip ever so slightly at the tips -- mind you, I do dishes without gloves and other manicure-unfriendly activities, so it's a marvel if I can go two hours without a chip! I retouched my tips and kept this polish on for about 5 days before calling it quits.

Removal was easy too, and there was no staining to my nails despite my lack of a base coat. For those of you concerned with the toxic odor, I'd say this polish is average, meaning yes, it smells awful but no worse than most polishes. Apply in a well ventilated room (thanks, mom!).

Because of the superlow price and great color, I'd have to give this polish 4 out of 5 stars. Payless, you surprised me! Can't wait to try other shades from the collection. I hope they will add more colors.

I bought the Platinum color and have had it on my toes for a week with no chipping. I'm impressed.

Love that color, I have something similar but that one seems a little bit more matted so I'm gonna try that brand. Thanks for the heads up!
