Beauty Review: Carmex Healing Cream and Lotion

Recently Carmex sent me a care package filled with goodies including two of their new products, Carmex Healing Lotion ($5.99, 5.5 oz.) and Carmex Healing Cream ($5.99, 4 oz.). Lately the winter weather has started to take a toll on my hands, and I've found myself cringing each time my scaly fingers come into contact with say, a piece of paper. Like nails on a chalkboard, it is. So out of necessity, I reached for the Healing Cream and found...

...instant relief! I should mention upfront that I'm not a big body lotion person, I hate the feel of greasy lotions that get on everything you touch, I loathe the eye-watering fragrances, and I get frustrated by lotion pumps that shoot all over the place when all I want is a tiny pea-size amount to sooth my skin. (Rant much?)

Point being, if you happen to be in the lotion lovers camp, you probably already know your favorite brands. But if you can't seem to find one you like, Carmex may just be your new best friend. It's non-greasy (seriously) and absorbs superfast. Furthermore, it doesn't wash off (or at least, you can't feel it washing off) the next time you wash your hands.

The scent is light and pleasant (as stated on the bottle, it's really the best way to describe it). The packaging can best be described as unisex, meaning it's really boring but at least it won't scare off any men in your household who may need to borrow some lotion for themselves.

As for ingredients, there are many, including Petrolatum, Lanolin, Beeswax, Mineral Oil, and Cocoa Seed Butter and the classic ingredients Carmex is known for, namely, Camphor and Menthol. If you're on team anti-petrolatum or prefer vegan products, Carmex isn't for you.

I haven't used the product long enough to tell if it actually "heals" my dry skin, but one application per day certainly keeps dryness at bay. I've started using it on my heels, too, and it's absolutely delightful. A little goes a long way!

I love how this stuff works and I'll definitely purchase another tube of the Healing Cream when I run out. The difference between the lotion and cream were rather imperceptible to me, so I'd opt for the cream. That's just me. Also, please note that both creams are thick and not runny (my photo may give the wrong impression; it's not dripping, I just "shaped" the product into teardrops for the photo.)

Disclosure: The products reviewed in this post were given to me for free. The opinions are all mine and 100% honest.

Hi to all,
I have Lichen Planus on my legs and it is very itchy, I have had it for about 4 and 1/2 years, I have tried everything but nothing worked also, my husband went on the web to try and find something for me non steroid and he found this Terrasil, very, very pricy he ordered me the Terrasil Max that said in one of the reviews that it was good for Lichen Planus, it came in two days and it was the ointment after he ordered the cream they sent me the ointment, anyway, I started using it and I didn't see any difference or feel any less itching or healing or anything to make it feel a little bit better, I kept using it I figured as long as it was so pricy I better try and see what happens, well. on the fifth day the bumps on my legs were twice as large and twice as red and the worst itch that I had ever had before with my LP, I had to stop using it and when you go to take it off it doesn't come off so easy, it is so greasy and oily, very uncomfortable to use and especially to go to sleep with it on, my legs got worse then what they were. I was going to write to the Terrasil people but, I didn't because, I am a peaceful person and didn't want to start anything with the company. My husband felt so bad and he didn't know what to do, he went all over looking for something for me non steroid then he went to Walgreens and they had this little round flat can with the name Carmex on it and he read the directions and what was in it and then the price, they were two for three dollars, he was happy and bought it for me hopeing that it would help some of the damage that The Terrasil already did to my already damaged LP legs. When he came home he said just try it and see what hapenns and so I did, I only used it twice and it is really helping my LP, the ingredients in it are not harmfull to my LP and when I applied it I like the way a little went such a long way and almost immediatly absorbd in to my skin, it has a fine venilla sent that is very soothing to the smell and it feels so cool on my legs the minute I start applying it, all I can say is that I love it and it will be my cream for all time now even if my LP heals I will then use the Lotion, it was almost worth going through the itch from the Terrasil because if I didn't I never, ever would have found Carmex Healing Cream and it really feels like it is doing the job so far, I love it and I want to thank the Carmex People for putting this on the market and at such a small prica compared to the Terrasil almost $60.00 compared to only $5.99 for the Carmex and it is working.

I must add to this comment that, I do not work for the Carmex people and everything that I wrote is the absolute truth

Thanks again,

Regards,
Laurie
