Off the Rack: Urban Outfitters Lightens Up for April

This weekend I stopped by Urban Outfitters and was pleasantly surprised by all the upbeat offerings for spring, from flirty skirts and feminine tops to the amazing selection of retro accessories, like structured bags, cool hats and fun shades.

Look to the mannequins for styling ideas: Plaid shirts and denim shorts, printed dresses topped with jackets, slouchy sweaters with curve-hugging minis. If you're looking for a go-to spring outfit, you might just find it at Urban.

Also, don't miss the sale racks - I saw a coral blouse for $19.99, and their Mulberry "Alexa" bag knockoffs were marked down to $39.99 in three colors. For the home, I loved a lot of the inexpensive options for showcasing your jewelry, like a coral branch jewelry stand or triple-tier ring tray (photos after the jump).

I love just about everything you showed, I just with their quality was a little better. I found a dress I loved there last week only to realize two of the seams were already ripped :-(

I made a skirt nearly identical to the one in the first picture last summer. The D.I.Y. can be found on my blog here:

I love all of these looks! My favorite has to be the shorts with the flowy long sleeve tops. I don't have a UO near me but luckily I'll be near King of Prussia next week.

Does anyone know of UO is one of those stores that doesn't carry everything in store that they do online? Because I've been eying up the Silence & Noise racerback romper for a while now but I want to try it on first. It seems it may be difficult to pull off.

They carry more stuff online than in stores, including a lot of web exclusives. Having said that, you might find the romper in store - it's the selection of shoes, beauty and home stuff that's easier to find online, i think!

Thanks for sharing! I might stop by this weekend to check these out in person. I agree with the other comment though. I wish UO produced higher quality goods.

I love the orange elephants! I'm completely obsessed with elephants right now... and I think they're lucky?

I love elephants, too, for the same reason - symbol of luck. The orange is such a cheerful color!

I love that scarf paired with the blazer+ dress in the second picture.

BB, I've always wondered..when you take in-store pictures for these type of features, do you have to notify the store manager beforehand? Or do they just let you b/c I know in the past, that stores like Forever 21 usually don't let you do in store photos, but you never seem to have a problem with it.

Loveee Urban's new spring looks. I saw them in the store just outside my apartment (lucky me!) and they are great. The loose knit sweater and shorts look is my favorite. If you don't already have enough scarves (I have toooo many), they are beautiful at UO this season!
