Foodies rejoice: Gilt Taste is here! Launched by the very same tastemakers who bring you fashion at Gilt Groupe and global travel at Jetsetter, Gilt Taste is a marketplace of the best artisan ingredients and food products that chefs use and love. It's also an interactive magazine of original recipes and thoughtful stories from chefs, experts and writers.

The site is in beta mode now, but beginning in June, Gilt Taste will feature weekly special sales in addition to their full-priced market, stocked with some of the finest meats, cheeses, produce, pastries and pantry staples. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

I may scour sales racks for fashion, but when it comes to food, I'm always willing to spend a little more to get good quality ingredients. I'm still savvy at the grocery store but I will save up to dine out at a hot new restaurant or to throw a really nice dinner party for family and friends. Food is precious and worth the splurge, so I know I'll be shopping Gilt Taste for special gifts and the occasional indulgence for me and my fiance.
