Softsoap was kind enough to recently send me a bottle of their Body Butter Strawberry Smoother body wash ($5 at drugstores). I love body washes that moisturize as they cleanse (if I can skip another step in the morning while getting ready, sign me up!) And I love exfoliating body washes (which are particularly important if you use sunless tanners, as I and my translucent skin frequently do). Put the two together and I’m in love! Well, in love with the idea, but is this product Prince Charming and did it deliver or did it leave me dry, flaky and feeling like I kissed a frog?
I have to say I’m really pleased with it. As I sit here typing, my skin feels great - soft, smooth and not at all dry or tight, thanks to the coconut oil and jojoba butter in this creamy body wash. I’m in love with the fact that I didn’t have to apply moisturizer, which can feel heavy or greasy in the sticky summer months.
Body Butter Strawberry Smoother works well for me as a body wash. It has a nice lather to it, doesn’t over lather, but isn’t just a moisturizing shower ooze. You actually feel like you've bathed. The little exfoliants (apricot seed powder) have some grit to them and do a good job of removing old, dead, dull skin. I like how it feels on my skin, and it has a great wake-you-up strawberry smoothie scent. I also enjoy using it as a shave cream, which again, removes yet another product from the bathroom shelf.
The bottle is also very appealing for me. Great size (don't have to buy new body wash every other week) and is designed to be easily held and opened with slippery hands in the shower. Love that.
I'm a fan, I feel soft and smell dreamy, and at around $5 a bottle you really can't go wrong!
