Off the Rack: August Highlights at H&M

A recent trip to one of H&M's Manhattan locations got me super pumped for fall. There's a strong throwback vibe to the 1960's with bow tie blouses, camel, wide trousers, retro prints and feminine shapes as well as a funky mod sheaths, bowler hats and pleated midi-skirts. The faux fur was in full force as were early fall accessories like structured handbags, scarves and lace-up booties. I was loving the combinations of orange and pink, a big color trend for fall 2011, the continuation of stripes, blazers and wedge heels (those taupe wedge pumps are so Middleton-sisters). Take a close look at my photos, there's so much to take in! What are you most excited for?

haha I was just going to say that as well! Not too sure about the color combos, I'd have to see it in real life to be enthusiastic.

I have been loving the 60s look recently. I really want a high waisted below the knee skirt. Then I shall tease my hair like no tomorrow!

I bought those patent and suede wedges. Love! I also got one of the shift dresses -- the one that's all blue and slightly shimmery. Great for office and out for cocktails/casual party.

WOW! I want it all! I'm loving the 60's influence for fall, soo classy. Do you know how much those taupe wedge pumps were?? Youre right there so Kate+Pippa, and I've been looking for ones like that. I adore Kate and Pippa's style.

Thanks for sharing--I'm in LOVE with the brown and red purse. It definitely screams fall to me.

Love the bowler hats, the blazers, and the blue and cream color shift above. I just wish they went online here in the US sooner. I won't be near an H&M until December.

Thanks for posting what's been in H&M for the last 19 days, I had no idea!

H&M has such great stuff at the moment and it's always such reasonable prices. It was pay day for me today and first thing I did was stock up on some of their new lines for Autumn!

I'm excited to try some 1960s-inspired styles such as A-line dresses, Peter Pan collars, and trapeze coats. NYC has the best H&M stores!

Loving the peach and grey color combinations...why didn't I think of that? (I went on a big peach kick this summer.) Now I think I need grey shoes...hmmm, flats, boots, or wedges...
