In just a few short days, I'll be leaving for Barcelona, Spain, along with 9 of my fellow fashion bloggers to tour the MNG by MANGO headquarters - I can't believe it's really happening! To prep for our voyage, we've created looks inspired by London, Milan, and Paris.
This week's challenge? Create a look inspired by a favorite landmark in your hometown.
The landmark I selected in my hometown of New Haven, Connecticut, is the beautiful Beineke library. When out-of-town guests visit, it's always one of the first places I take them.
Beineke is not only unique and imposing from the outside, but the interior is equally awe-inspiring - sunlight filters through the translucent marble "windows" creating the most otherworldly glow.
For my look, I paired a MNG by MANGO leopard print cardigan with an Old Navy pencil skirt and new shoeties from Sole Society. Realizing I needed some color, I reached for my orange leather tote bag (c/o Banana Republic) and BaubleBar enamel bangle.
While leopard print and libraries might seem incongruent, what I was really going for with my look was a modern silhouette that would play off the cool geometric angles of the Beineke building. There's something rigid yet organic about the design, and hopefully that came across in my inspired-by look, too. What do you think?
