I was loaned a Droid RAZR by Motorola to use during Fashion Week and asked to chronicle my experience. As a fashion blogger, I rely on my phone for everything from keeping track of my hectic schedule to tweeting to taking photos and checking emails, so I was super excited to find out that Motorola was a fashion week sponsor. These days, tech gadgets aren't just about function - they're accessories, too, extensions of our personal style - and we want them to look good! The RAZR does just that - it's sleek, stylish and goes with everything. If you're taking outfit photos, you want this phone in the pic, you're not going to hide it in your purse.
Right out of the box, my RAZR was up and running in a matter of minutes. If you're already familiar with using a smartphone, then the RAZR should be super easy to use. Everything is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory - you slide to unlock, and use the icons on the homescreen to make calls, text or take photos. And if you have a Google account (who doesn't?) you can set up and sync email, contacts - all that stuff - in a matter of seconds. Plus, all your info will be backed up for you online so you don't have to worry about losing data if you lose or damage your phone.
The RAZR is ridiculously lightweight (lighter than my iPhone), super slim (slightly thinner but slightly wider and taller than the iPhone) and purple. Swoon! The screen is vivid and so clear you could easily watch movies on it and get lost in it's picturesque beauty. Honestly, I'm a hardcore iPhone user so I didn't want or expect to like the RAZR as much as I did, but I gotta hand it to them, it's an amazing device. If you have small hands, you might have trouble wielding the RAZR because, like I said it's a bit wide, but I ran into a friend at Fashion Week with tiny hands and she said she didn't have any trouble using it. So there ya go.
Ultimately, the one thing that the RAZR doesn't have is Instagram. Yes, it's a simple, unassuming app - but I'm ADDICTED and as a blogger, I feel I kinda have to be on Instagram to stay current. Hopefully the Android platform will get Instagram for its users soon.
So in a nutshell, I think the RAZR has come a long way and rivals the iPhone in nearly every capacity. I hate to say it, but it's true. Price-wise, I think you can get better deals on the RAZR, too, I paid an arm and a leg for my iPhone. Meanwhile, I just saw some TV commercials for the RAZR where you could buy one for $199 and get a second RAZR free (with the purchase of an accompanying data plan, etc.). Ideally, I'd have both but sadly I had to ship the RAZR back to Motorola, who I thank for giving me the opportunity to be completely and utterly wired with the latest tech for Fashion Week.

I lifted my Droid above the crowd backstage at Betsey Johnson to snap this pic of celebrities Angela Simmons, Russell Simmons, Betsey Johnson and Kristin Cavallari.

I've always been an android user and vignette has been my photo app of choice.
