H&M to Launch New Retail Concept

Fashionologie is reporting that H&M has announced its plans to unveil a new chain of stores in 2013. The new store chain will launch under a separate brand that will have slightly higher prices than H&M but will not be considered luxury. That's good news for budget shoppers (like myself) who might be willing to spend a little more for better craftsmanship and materials.

WWD is also reporting that H&M will be adding "new concepts and product categories." My fingers are crossed that this will include home decor. Factor in online shopping for H&M and I will be in retail heaven.

What's your reaction to H&M's announcement?

Would hate to see cheap H&M decontented-- less fashion, even worse fabrics. Their highest price-points aren't cheap already (could swear I saw stuff over $100 there last month).

I for one welcome H&M upping their game when it comes to fabric and craftsmanship quality. My beef with them is the capsule collections. There is absolutely no WAY anyone who does not camp-out on the sidewalk is able to get their hands on anything as they sell out so fast! I longed for a piece from the Marni capsule collection but was bitterly disappointed. Sigh...

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let H&M open their new store in Nashville! We need it! I would however prefer the "cheaper" H&M. Every time I have purchased from there while traveling I've had 0 complaints about the merchandise/quality.

Seconded! But I don't necessarily want the newer, more expensive H&M store in Nashville; I just want a regular H&M. :-)

We already have a home range here in the UK!! It's really affordable the only problem is only a few stores stock it so you have to order online! Thank god for free returns!!

I'm so jealous! Zara also has a home line but very few stores carry it here in the states. When I was in Spain I saw the most amazing bedspread but it was too bulky to take back home with me hehe.
