The Look for Less: Timex Vintage Field Army Watch at J.Crew

This amazing look for less comes to us from an alert reader named Hannah! Based on an iconic 1940s military style from the Timex archives, this Timex vintage field army watch is $150 exclusively at J.Crew.

Target carries a genuine Timex watch that will give you a similar look for less - $120 less to be exact. It's the Timex Full Size Weekender Slip Through Watch in Cream/Olive Stripe and it's just $30 at Target stores and Target.com.

I bought this watch, had to return it because it TICKS SO LOUD. I couldn't sleep at night it was so loud. Cheaply made. Even if I took it off and left it on my dresser it was too loud, I had to put it in another room. Extremely cute watch but the ticking will drive you mental.

Are you referring to the J.Crew Timex or Target Timex? Either way I hope you returned it, that would drive me crazy too!

I got the same watch (the Target version) with a coral strap for my birthday. I love that you can change out the bands (got the mint green one)! I haven't noticed the ticking being super loud, but I don't sleep in a watch so that could be it. The budget version is definitely the way to go.

Glad to hear this, I've noticed the interchangeable straps recently and was thinking of getting one myself.

I just got the Target watch and it is totally a great buy. The ticking is louder than my Michael Kors watch, but I only hear it if I put my head close to my ear. Like 'resting my head on my hand' close, not lying in bed with it on my bedside table. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Definitely a best buy with the interchangeable straps. I don't mind the ticking since it is kept far from my ears.

I've seen this watch on Target before. I think it's silly that Jcrew tries to charge $120 more for something that is pretty much the same (even though I love Jcrew!)
