Off the Rack: Joe Fresh August Offerings in New Brunswick, Canada

Last week, on the long ride back home from a two-week vacation in Newfoundland (we like road trips), I made a quick stop at an Atlantic Superstore in New Brunswick to check out the latest offerings from Joe Fresh. This Canadian fast-fashion brand first hit my radar about 3 or 4 years back during a different road trip to Canada (we love Canada!), and it was love at first sight. I lamented the fact that we didn't have Joe Fresh in the States (besides a few recently-opened New York City locations) but all that is about to change next spring when Joe Fresh boutiques will be popping up at JCPenney stores around the USA. Hooray!

I'm guessing that the clothes you see in these photographs I snapped will be very similar to what we can expect to see at JCP. Similar to Old Navy in quality (and possibly sizing), Joe Fresh offers modern, everyday fashions for women, gents and kids. They also carry accessories like sunglasses, shoes, bags, belts, swimwear and workout gear including cute yoga pants and jackets. Joe Fresh even has a fab beauty line (3 for $10 nail polishes are my favorite) and everything's super affordable.

On this quick trip, I snagged a dark denim shirt for $24 and a Persian Blue nail polish. I wish I had time to check out the summer sales racks, where I spotted colorful shorts and cute tops marked down under $10. If you're concerned that these options are all a bit too casual, I would add that the Manhattan Joe Fresh stores I've been too offer more fashion-forward pieces, dresses and skirts as well as office appropriate pieces like blazers and tailored pants. If JCP stores offer a combination of casual and dressy Joe Fresh, I think we'll have a lot to look forward to next spring.

If you're a Canadian fan of Joe Fresh, let me know in the comments. How's the quality? Do styles vary greatly from store to store? I'm all ears!

Glad you had to chance to check out JOE Fresh! I live in Toronto Canada and I love the JOE line. We have many stand alone store here around the city but I personally prefer the stores located within the SuperCentres. They tend to have more stock and different stock...the stand alone stores tend to have more of the "runway" looks. Over the years I have found the quality to be great, the items really stand the test of time and always wash well. I even shop for my toddler son and love the kids collections. Enjoy!
Best, Lisa

I live in Canada, too and buy quite a few things from the Joe Fresh line. I also prefer the store inside Superstore (the grocery store). It's handy being able to check out what they have every time I go grocery shopping! ;-) I think they quality is hit and miss. To me, it mostly depends on the fabric, some feels nicer than others. I've never had a problem with quality on anything I've purchased there.

WHAT?! I had no idea they were coming to JCP - so excited as we don't have a Joe Fresh store nearby...yay! :-)

Congratulations on your first Joe Fresh trip! I personally ALWAYS find something on the sale rack, whether it's a pair of black cropped sweats, or a double wrap belt or a knit sweater, Joe is my Sunday morning guilty pleasure. I find that their sizing is pretty fair, and that their quality is good. I've also bought a pair of boots last year, that I love! The kids clothes are really cute - I've bought a couple outfits for my friends kids' and they seem to really like them. Enjoy!

I live in Canada and really like Joe Fresh! Yes, you are right in that Joe's sizing is very similar to Old Navy, so for petite gals like me, the 'xs' is sometimes too big. The quality and cuts are hit and miss, but I usually buy the non-synthetic items and leather shoes from Joe, and I have never had anything fall apart or shrink. Plus, it makes grocery shopping a little more fun!

I'm Canadian (who just got back from a trip to Newfoundland too)... and an avid fan of Joe Fresh. I'm generally a large in lots of stores, but a medium at Joe, so I can understand the concerns from small girls. I've been really pleased at how my pieces have held up in the last few years. I'd say things last better than my Old Navy purchases and the styling seems to be better.

I love Joe Fresh, both the stand-alone and inside the Superstore. Quality, I think, is ok considering the price. I still have my cashmere-blend skirt from almost 10 yrs ago so I say not bad, eh?:p

Glad you like Joe Fresh! I'm from Canada, too, like many of the commenters. If you like nail polish, make sure to try Joe Fresh Twilight. The color is simply divine. It's dark green with gold flecks!

Quality is definitely it and miss. Love my maxi skirt, hate the leggings. Like that they're always on trend, and that I don't have to drag my kids to the mall every time they need a socks and underwear etc.

I'm from Canada & Joe Fresh fan. Their quality is hit & miss. I have had stuff that I have worn a million times, but other things that fall apart right away. I have a couple of grocery stores near me that have smaller Joe Fresh stores, but I love to make the trip to the Superstores because they have a bigger selection. I like their bootcut jeans because their petite length comes in 29 inch inseam & it's perfect for me. Normally I have to even get petite length pants hemmed from other stores. I only wish they made their other pants in a petite length. They usually have a good selection of jewellery at good prices. Some of the pieces can even pass off as higher end. I like that their pjs don't shrink. Sometimes I think their shoes are over priced for what they are.
If you see something you love, you have to buy it right away because it won't be in the stores for very long.

I'm from Canada and I do like Joe Fresh! Their stuff is hit or miss though in terms of quality, sizing and fit. I definitely enjoy browsing whenever I stop by and sometimes you do find great pieces for a good price! They've also got some great jewelry and beauty products too!
