Off the Rack: T.J. Maxx Pre-Spring Highlights

A couple days ago, I went to T.J. Maxx to pick up some coffee (T.J.'s is my go-to source for cheap, whole-bean coffee), but of course, I was sidetracked by the new spring handbags and shoes. And the home goods. It happens. My store had rolled out lots of colorful options to help you refresh your wardrobe and your space. Handbag highlights included Jessica Simpson mini colorblock bags in mint green or bright orange, pastel satchels made from fine Italian leather and Michael Kors tech sleeves in rainbow hues.

For shoes, I was loving the bright flats from DV Dolce Vita and Nine West as well as sparkly heels from Ivanka Trump (I'm told her heels are comfortable). In home decor, I nearly cried tears of joy when I saw two amazing chevron chairs by Cynthia Rowley - the print was just so happy! And the price was decent, too, $129.99 each.

Ultimately, I stuck to my plan and bought a couple bags of coffee beans and, confession time, I got a neon/neutral Rebecca Minkoff bag - but I'll probably return it. I just needed it to come home with me for a few days. LOL. I was shopping with a friend who told me, "Your T.J. Maxx is so much better than mine!" and now I'm beginning to think that she (and many of you readers) are right!

See anything here that you'll make a trip to your T.J. Maxx for?

Thanks for this post... I love shopping from my couch! What kind of coffee so you buy there?

@Amanda - So it's different each time - this trip, I bought one bag of Columbian Supremo by a brand called Unique Coffee Roasters (http://uniquecoffeeroasters.com/) and another bag of Copper Moon Dark French Roast. We're enjoying both! Since I'm pregnant I have maybe half a cup of coffee with lots of milk a day, no more, just to limit caffeine. :-)

Enabler alert: you're going to want a small handbag when the baby comes because you'll also be lugging around a diaper bag so the RM is perfect.

@Jessica LOL! Well in THAT case... ;-)

p.s. any tips on where to find a stylish yet functional diaper bag?

We loved our Skiphop bag. Lots of pockets to stash things, and a slim changing pad. They also have this awesome clips so you can hook it to the handle of your stroller - so it doesn't interfere with your own stylish purse;) They also have a TON of prints, that are good for mom and pop!

Thanks for introducing me to this brand! I was just browsing their stuff at nordstrom.com, pinned a few things and will be adding to my registry, hehe.

I loved my Timi and Leslie diaper bag! I got a pewter color and it looked like a large handbag and it had short handles like a satchel or a long one for shoulder carrying.

Thanks for these tips, googling Timi and Leslie now! (And how cute are the brand names?!)

Now that is a good TJMaxx! I would love to find the Rebecca Minkokk wallet. The Jessica Simpson bags are cheaper than some at Target. I have been buying my wrapping paper at TJM/Marshalls lately, I love those prints and they are carried at Papyrus :-)

I love TJ Maxx! Our TJ is fabulously stocked! I try to go Thursday nights or Friday mornings. Apparently, that is around the time my store gets stocked and all the new and pretty things come out. :-)
