Watch This: My Easy Watercolor Nails Tutorial

In an effort to avoid doing my taxes this past weekend, I found the perfect distraction by creating a new nail art tutorial! My quick step-by-step how-to shows you a simple method for creating a marbleized, watercolor effect using your favorite nail polish colors and a piece of plastic wrap. Couldn't be easier and the results are so pretty and fresh for spring.

For those of you concerned about me using nail polish while pregnant, do not worry. I wore an industrial strength face mask and worked in an area with very good ventilation. What can I say, I'm an overly cautious first-time mama!

Colors used:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in White On
Elation Generation c/o ORLY
Melodious Utopia c/o ORLY
Peaceful Opposition c/o ORLY
Seche Vite Top Coat

Love this! I tried another method before and I just couldn't get it to work, this looks much more manageable!

Let me know how it goes! I redid some of my nails the first time by adding a bit more polish and squishing the paint around a bit more, it worked great. Good luck!

This looks pretty cool, but how do you prevent the color from overly smudging and creating ridges?

You'd think the paint would be thick and ridges would form but the design came out perfectly smooth. Also, if there are tiny lumps, the Seche Vite will smooth it out. It's really the magic maker with nail art, so I've learned - kinda blends the design and solidifies the look!

I am really liking this idea! Can't wait for the weekend so I can give it a try. I heard about this saran wrap method of marbling but didn't know how to go about it, so thank you! :-)
