Catherine Malandrino for Kohl's: A Review

Paris sweater / Catherine Malandrino for Kohl's

As a Kohl’s fanatic, I was so excited to be given the opportunity to cover the Catherine Malandrino launch on September 27! I had seen advertisements everywhere and couldn't wait to view the collection myself. I was not disappointed one bit! I suggest checking out the line at your local Kohls store, but keep reading for my personal thoughts and opinions on this anticipated fall launch—and to see what I bought!

I fell in love with this dress when it was on the rack and even more when I put it on. This is a great dress for a night out when you want to have a little extra warmth. The fabric on the body is thick and will definitely retain some heat. The dress feature long sleeves with amazing detail that matches the peekaboo fabric on the bottom of the dress. It was a great length as well. I highly recommend this dress.

This top is similar to the dress and would look amazing with some jeans and black boots. I love the pattern on the top and how it slightly flows out at the bottom. This top could definitely be dressed down or up, depending on the occasion. With the right shoes and jewelry, this top could definitely be made more formal.

This top was one of my favorites! I absolutely love the oxblood trend that is happening right now. The Paris theme is prominent in this piece featuring the wording on the front. I would love to pair this top with some army green jeans and brown boots. The black detailing on the collar and sleeves also goes great with the colors. This is definitely a more casual look for this line, but I absolutely love it.

This chic black and white sweater was so comfortable that I didn't want to take it off. We can once again see the Paris theme in this piece of clothing with “Paris” written across. One thing I loved about this piece was the design of the sleeves. It featured a looser upper sleeve with a more fitted lower sleeve, as shown in the picture. This really took this sweater from an A to an A+ in my book.

This heart lock top is soft and thinner than other the others, and would definitely require a cami underneath, but still an amazing piece on the line. This is also a more casual top. This would be great for errands or a dinner out, as it is very comfortable and stretchy. This is a piece that you can throw on with some jeans and instantly look put together!

This striped sweater was my favorite pick out of everything I tried on. It is an oversized and cozy, definitely a piece to keep you warm. This sweater also features dolman sleeves, which I love. Since it is black and white, it can also be worn with just about any colored jeans or pants, making it a great fall staple.

Another amazing sweater for fall! I loved the quarter sleeves on this sweater and the Eiffel Tower illustration. This sweater will require a tank or cami underneath. However, the fit of the sweater is great! I love the ribbed hems of the sweater and the sleeves. This sweater would be perfect for running errands in jeans or dressed up with a skirt and heels.

They were already out of my size for this particular piece, but I wanted to show it to you all because it was so chic. This moto jacket features edgy stitching and zippers throughout the jacket. It is one of the more expensive pieces in the line, but understandably! This is definitely a jacket I would love to have in my closet this fall.

Of all these pieces, I purchased the casual oxblood tee and the striped sweater. This line was also 25% off on launch day! I earned ten dollars in Kohls cash, which will probably go toward another purchase from this line.

What do you think of the new Catherine Malandrino line at Kohls?

I thought this collection was really strong and easy to purchase from. I bought several items in the first day and it was already 25% off! plus I used a coupon and I got Kohl's cash. My favorite item was the black dolman sleeve sweater w/"Paris" on it. It's comfortable and very versatile, as are most of the pieces. The pieces seem to fall into work/casual or evening categories, which is fine w/ me. I love the dress w/ the sheet back panel w/ Eiffel Tower. It's quite stunning. But it's kind of a one-shot deal. I might buy the t-shirt in navy. I thought what was sent to me was very wearable, but I haven't seen it all in person.

I wanted the Eiffel tower dress and the manager told me they were online only (but the website didn't say that). I used a 15% off coupon with the already 25% off! I just got it today. It's good quality and I got it because it's so different. I bought the dress in my size and a size smaller. I could have worn either one- there wasn't much of a difference. I got the Kohl's cash and will probably use it on the oxblood shirt or a sweater. The sweaters did disappoint me because they are so thing. =/

I also have the dress and the sweater with the heart/lock on it. I have worn the shirt (I meant to say shirt) to work without a cardigan but a camp underneath over black slacks and black boots and i looked really cute and professional with my hair up.
The dress i got in a size 4 and i fits amazingly. Im going to finally wear it tonight to a gala yes in June. The weather has been in the lower 70's and i suspect air conditioning at the event also its at night so I might get tired as the evening goes. I get super cold when tired so the thickness of the dress will keep me in control weather wise all night.
I hope for the sake of this event that the weather doesn't get warmer till tomorrow but it'll be in the 60's meh. Win some and lose some. As for the dress with some nude pumps and lots of red its going to be a good night. Glad I snagged it off the racks versus "sitting" on it because we didn't get anymore in and they were slowly disappearing.
