Look for Less: Carrie's Dior Gladiators

With some 81 outfit changes to speak of in the upcoming Sex and the City: The Movie, Carrie Bradshaw will be a fixture in the blogosphere for weeks, perhaps months, to come. So get used to it. Here, Sarah Jessica Parker sports an outrageous flower bedecked white frock, tempered by - get this - Extreme Dior Gladiator Platforms, which retail for $770.00 at eLuxury.com. While I'm not a big fan of the dress (reminds me of Little Shop of Horrors), I am very fond of the shoes. Snag a similar-looking pair called Candace (above right) for $69.95 at Bakers. One down, 80 to go.

That flower on that dress is ridiculous, and it makes her LOOK ridiculous- I don't care how much someone loves SJP, and therefore thinks she can do no fashion evil, but that is just stupid looking! Heres a rule to go by, if the accessory is bigger then your face and sewed on your shoulder is probably a BAD IDEA!

Wow, her dress honestly scares the crap out of me. It looks like that dang flower is wearing her! But she looks nice if you only look at her feet. The two styles of platforms were quite well-matched, which was nice to see.

even fashion icons are allowed a mistake or two. the first rule of being well dressed is that people remember that you looked smashing, not what you wore. i think jackie o said that. if not her, then wallis simpson. anyway, the shoes don't really go with the dress, they're too clunky for such a delicate dress.
just my opinion.
