Review: Summer Haul from DailyLook.com

Dailylook's amazing summer options

Since my first review of the company’s clothes back in April, DailyLook.com is now my go-to online fashion retailer when I am looking for something bold and spunky and affordable without sacrificing quality. We aren’t exactly talking Forever21 prices, but sometimes it just isn’t worth it if the items don’t last long. I have never received a piece that I wasn’t completely in love with. When the deliveryman dropped off my most recent purchase from the site in the signature white box with orange writing, he said to me, “Didn’t I deliver you one of these like two weeks ago?” Whoops! I guess it’s safe to say I’m in love with DailyLook, therefore I am more than happy to bring you a SECOND review of select spring and summer items c/o DailyLook!

Watercolor crop top

Watercolor Crop Top $20

If you’re like me, crop tops are always a hit or miss, depending on your comfort level with the style. But I found myself continually going back to it on the display page—the watercolor print had snagged my eye and I couldn’t pass it up, especially for the price. I’m glad I took the risk because this crop fits super well. It has a comfortable stretch to it that doesn’t constrict, and the scalloped cut neckline adds to the visual allure. If the short scuba length makes you nervous, consider trying it with a high-waist bottom, like the striped skirt I have here. Speaking of…

Skirt

Striped Bandage Bell Skirt $45

My favorite item from this review! When I pulled it out of the packaging, I was surprised to see that the material was stiff enough for the skirt to hold its form on its own, almost like a hoopskirt! But this isn’t a bad thing in my opinion, I thought it was cute the way it stayed flared out when I put it on, much different from the flowing A-line skirts that I have already. This skirt is super stretchy and fit snug on my waist, and paired it with the watercolor crop. For some reason, this look made me feel like I was fit for a tea party!

Dailylook's amazing denim cut-offs

Destroyed Short Shorts $40

Short shorts are another trend that many women avoid, or at least find difficult to master without your bum hanging out or the waist digging into your skin. And I won’t lie, both of these variables were a bit of an issue for me, but I think that I could have gone a size up and they would have been more comfortable since they do have some stretch to them. Besides the fit, I loved that these shorts were ‘destroyed’ but not overdone; personally I think there is a line to be drawn where a pair of shorts or jeans are so torn up that it doesn’t look good anymore. These shorts come in three different washes, but they are low on sizes so get to the site ASAP!

Daisy crop top

Daisy Print Crop Top $13

This is a simple, cotton tank with a girly print, light enough for a hot day paired with short shorts (like I did here) or maybe some lightweight harem pants. I would recommend this one to any girl who may be on the fence about trying a crop top because it’s a bit on the longer side, at least compared to many others I’ve tried. It also isn’t too revealing up top and the price makes it worth the buy! No complaints about this one whatsoever—I can see myself wearing this one a lot in the next couple months.

Kimono

Embroidered Star Kimono $35

I had been wanting to try a kimono for a long time, so I was super excited when I had the opportunity to review this one. The Star Kimono will instantly up the Boho vibe, with billowy draping and multicolored embroidery along the edges. Mine is a size small and is still a bit bigger than I’d hoped it to be, but considering this is the first one I’ve tried on, I may just not be used to the way kimonos are supposed to fit.

Tropical Knit Bodycon Dress $25

Since this dress has long sleeves and is made of thinner material, it makes for the perfect casual but sexy number for a warm evening. The tropical print makes it season-appropriate as well. I tested this out with friends one night and it was a relief to be wearing a dress that I didn’t have to constantly pull down to keep myself covered up. The neckline plunges just the right amount and meets with a twist in the front, so a short or medium-length necklace would be a suitable accessory. Maybe try something simple like DailyLook’s Chevron Cutout Necklace, or go with the Antiqued Floral Gem Necklace for a bold statement piece.

Grapefruit purse

Grapefruit Purse (no longer available)

So sorry to be a tease! BUT: Try the Daisy Cross Body Purse $45

Very similar in the way that it is cut in a unique shape—guaranteed that you’ll be the only one in the room with a handbag like this.

I really like all the items you picked. I think that kimono is beautiful, but it does take a while to get used to styling something more billowy and large.
