So I saw Sex and the City: The Movie over the weekend and as I expected, it was fabulous. Stayed true to the series, full of laughter and tears, and of course, the fashion did not disappoint. So with visions of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda still fresh in my mind, it's a good thing we have their fairy godmother stylist Patricia Field's Summer Collection for Payless to amuse us. If the Heiress pump looks good in person, I'll probably get a pair in Turquoise to go with this red dress that I purchased for an upcoming event. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Patricia Field for Payless Summer 08

Now, on to Patricia Field for Payless. I must admit, I'm a little disappointed. I checked out the line in my local Payless last week, and while the colors are trendy, it just seems a little ... well ... cheap-looking; and while I'm all for spending less to look like more, I'm not sure this line makes the cut. I suppose I just like metallics that are a bit more understated. For example, I recently purchased these gold open-toed pumps at Target and love how the more muted gold color (though it is a bit more gold in person than in the online photo) elongates my legs (I'm tres petite) and the open toe shows off my summer pedicures: http://www.target.com/Merona-Alycia-Peep-Toe-Pumps-Gold/dp/B000WSJ09W/qid=1212424660/ref=br_1_5/602-5980207-3687060?ie=UTF8&node=13621961&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=13621961&rank=-product%5Fsite%5Flaunch%5Fdate&rh=&page=2.
I do, however, like Patricia's "Princess Ballet Flat." While they're sparkly, they're not flashy; and I think they would add the perfect punch to dark jeans or a cute mini-dress. My local store didn't have her clutches, but online they look like a great basic. Overall, though, I'd have to say that I was much more impressed with the quality and selection of alice + olivia for Payless.
Also, I'd recommend checking out Payless' patent collection. My favorites: the Krime Exotic Print Platform Sandal, the Kailey Pump, and the Lance Flex Point Patent Pump. The Candy Glam Sandal and Hollis Peep Toe are adorable as well, but I can't wear shoes with ankle-straps - They cut off my gams! They look great in person, too! (It's hard to screw up patent leather, even on the cheap.)
Sorry for the extra-long post. I obviously had some time on my hands this morning - Haha.
If you can find me a better-looking shiny blue heel, do tell. I want something intentionally flashy to go with my red dress, and it's an evening affair so I'm hoping the dim lighting will conceal shoddy workmanship (aren't I awful?!) =)
So where is the LuLu's mothership located??
