Yogis can now breathe a sigh of relief! The new collection of Gaiam gear at Kohl’s is perfect when you’re on a budget that's much less flexible than your downward dog. Seeing as how this line is designed for the Zen, I decided to test out the outfit I received courtesy of Kohl's with a little at-home yoga session. Here are my thoughts:
Low-Impact Yoga Sports Bra $24
If you’ve read my previous reviews on sports bras, you’ll know how I feel about wireless, low-impact bras with padding. No bueno. I will say, though, that this bra felt like it had better compression and was much more sturdy than other budget brands I've tried. However, its strappy back is very similar to the one I wore in my Forever 21 post, and my opinions of this style were solidified: If you have more to hold up, these straps probably won’t do the trick. It definitely did not keep everything in place the way I wanted with all the upside-down twists and turns in my yoga sequence.
Studio to Street Harmony Tank $26
I thought this tank was cute and fun, but too flowy for my taste. This was size small and while the draping bottom looks nice while standing up, the tank flies all over the place when in compromising positions, as you can probably imagine. I’m not a committed yoga follower, so maybe this is just the preferred style that I’m not used to personally (usually I opt for tighter fits). I found myself tucking it in at my hip so that I could perform the moves, so it was a bit distracting. Besides the issue with the fit, I don’t see why this wouldn’t make a great tank for exercise or in a casual setting. The other available colors have playful graphics with cute yoga quotes, too!
Om Yoga Capri Leggings $36
My favorite item of the three! These were super soft and stretchy, breathable and boast a fun pattern. It just so happened that I had been looking at a pair of black and white leggings a few days before I received these, so I’m glad I waited on those! The Gaiam pair is high-waisted (as you can see it hits just under my belly button in the photo) which is not for everyone, but I like how it helps me feel a little more tucked in and I don’t have to worry about them falling down. I am wearing a size small; it was a bit roomy in the front but fit with the perfect amount of snug everywhere else. It hit all my key criteria for a perfect pair of capri leggings: breathable, not see-through, flattering, and fun!
