Beauty Review: New Yes to Grapefruit Skincare Line

Yes to Grapefruit Skincare Line
A little while ago I received a complimentary set of Yes to Grapefruit skincare products from the Yes To brand. Yes To prides themselves on the fact that their products are always "at least 95% natural, free of parabens, phthalates and SLS, and made with recyclable materials." I have to admit, my skincare routine has been the same for years, so I was excited to mix it up with these products and I've always wanted to try the Yes To line! I used the products for an entire week — using 2 masks, moisturizing nightly and toning mists daily. Read on to hear my experiences and learn if these products lived up to my expectations...

Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Paper Mask

Say Yes to Grapefruit Paper Mask

What they say:
"Who needs the spa when there's the NEW Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Paper Mask the first natural Tencel sheet masks, which increase absorption of ingredients deep into the skin, for the ultimate at-home pampering."

"These 95% natural, petroleum, SLS and paraben-free single use masks are easy to apply and bathed in a brightening serum. The grapefruit and vitamin C-infused formula helps minimize pores, even skin tone, hydrate and brighten for an overall more radiant complexion."

85% experienced smaller pores and more even skin tone
91% experienced brighter, more radiant skin
94% experienced hydrated and softer skin

Price: $15.99 for pack of 5 masks

What I thought: First, let me discuss my skin I am fair-skinned and have a lot of freckles, so I was eager to see if these products did what they promised in terms of evening skin tones, reducing dark spots etc. I was also hesitant about the masks just because my skin can be sensitive at times. This mask was very refreshing, I loved the grapefruit scent, the ease of application and it was extremely refreshing. However, it did leave me slightly pink - since the grapefuit products do contain vitamin C. The pink wore off a little after removing the mask. I did notice that my freckles had indeed faded slightly, and my skin did look brighter, this may also be because I was using the entire line together. My sensitive-skin tip would be to use the moisturizer and toning spray on days when you do not use the mask, just because it is a lot of vitamin C and I didn't want to irritate my skin.

Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Toning Mist

Yes to Grapefruit Toning Mist

What they say: "Say YES to instant hydration with the NEW Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Toning Mist. This 96% natural, petroleum, SLS and paraben-free toning spray is formulated with grapefruit, kakadu plum and vitamin C to instantly hydrate skin. Packaged in an eco-friendly mist bottle, a spritz of this delicious smelling toning mist delivers hydration and a little extra radiance boost."

Price: $10.99 per 5.2 fl. oz. bottle

What I thought: I loved the grapefruit smell and cool mist, definitely invigorating and helped wake me up in the mornings! The packaging was also extremely simple to use and the mist dispersed evenly. The dry time is short, and it did wonders for toning my skin but it didn't feel very hydrated after. It felt almost tight and dry. My pores are also nearly invisible thanks to my previous skin routine, so I cannot comment on the effects that it had on my pores. It did even my skin tone, but again I can't say if that is this one product or because I was using the entire line (in case you were interested in buying only one of these products).

Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Night Treatment

Yes to Grapefruit Night Treatment

What they say: "The NEW Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Night Treatment is the ultimate treatment to use while enjoying your beauty sleep. Formulated with grapefruit, lilac extract and tea tree oil, this overnight treatment is infused with vitamin C to help reduce the appearance of pores for younger-looking skin (81% said pores appear less noticeable*.)"

"The 95% natural, petroleum, SLS and paraben-free treatment is a dreamy, lightweight formula that can also be used in the morning on freshly-cleansed skin."

Price: $15.99 per 1.7 fl. oz. bottle

What I thought: First off I love the packaging and the dispensing system, which is similar to nail polish remover bottles in nail salons, you just press down to get the perfect dab of moisturizer. Application is smooth, leaves your skin smelling magnificent and is extremely hydrating without being oily. (I loved it so much I used it both morning and night.) I definitely recommend it to all skin types — with this product even my ultra sensitive skin didn't turn pink/red or feel any irritation.

Final Thoughts While this line did brighten my skin, lighten my freckles and dark spots, even my skin tone and moisturize my skin, I'm not sure if I, personally, would buy the line. For individuals with sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend this product because the mix of vitamin C and other acids in the Yes to Grapefruit line can be very harsh and irritating. I noticed some peeling after a week of using it. If you happen to have skin that isn't sensitive I say go for it! It is well worth the investment, and the products live up to their promises of brightening and evening your skin tone. There are also many other products available in the Yes to Grapefruit line, so make sure to check those out as well!
