Please note: This contest has ended.

It's been too long since we've had a giveaway here at The Budget Babe, but today we are breaking our dry spell with a real goodie!! Yup, we're giving away a brand new Casio Baby-G watch so you can tell time in style.

Is your watch a fashion accessory? To enter, just tell us your answer in the comment section below and one lucky winner will be chosen at random to receive this white Baby-G watch (shown above) - perfect for summer!

Baby-G watches are sporty and tough yet they are chic, cool and feminine. Baby-G watches are shock resistant like its male counterpart, G-Shock. What also makes Baby-G great is that they are fashionable, highly functional (packed with technology) and they are affordable - Baby-G's start at $79.

Be sure to use a valid email address and include info(at)thebudgetbabe.com in your address book so we can contact you if you're the winner. Comments must be posted by 12 noon ET on Wednesday July 16 to be eligible to win. The winner will be announced on July 17.

Special thanks to Joyce for making this giveaway possible. Good luck everyone!

Honestly, I currently don't own any watch. I've grown so used to referring to my mobile for the time! I would love to win this though, and start using watches again! Thank you for the chance!

I actually rarely wear a watch. I used to all the time, but it broke and I haven't found one that is as functional, affordable, and stylish.
#2 Christine on 2008-07-15 05:30
I'm the same - don't wear one, but I really would if I had one this cute!
#3 reva (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 07:03
No, my watch just tells time. But it's pink and digital, so I love it.
#4 WantThatWatch on 2008-07-15 07:07
I need a watch for necessity purposes...
#4.1 Sara G (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 17:19
I change watches to suit my activity and style. It's the only "bracelet" I wear. I have a silver celtic tooles hinge cuff bracelet for casual dressy,a large face watch for when I really need to see the time easily like when driving. I like to collect them!
#4.2 Meredith Peters on 2008-07-15 19:09
Without a doubt!
#4.3 Ed Nemmers on 2008-07-15 19:22
No, I'm in nursing school so my watch is much more than an accessory.
#4.4 Paula Strickland on 2008-07-16 09:13
I rarely wear watches now, but I definitely think they can be worn as fashion accessories, and I used to do so often. I miss wearing a watch...I'm digging mine out when I get home tonight, but I'd love a new one too!!
#5 QL girl (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 07:41
Oh, I love this watch! I was just thinking yesterday that I need to look for a new watch....
#6 Madelyn N on 2008-07-15 07:44
I'd love to win! I love G Shock watches.
#7 Sarah (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 08:01
I've always considered my watches as fashion accessories! The watch would make a nice addition...
#8 Tasha on 2008-07-15 08:03
Yes, my watch is an accessory. Its rather old now but I still love it. Its a thick white leather band/cuff and the rectangle watch face is strapped onto the cuff. I wear it a little loose. I dont know what I will do if I have to get another watch. I love this one.
#9 Jessica on 2008-07-15 08:16
I love this watch! It's got a fantastic laid back sporty vibe that you could wear with anything. I never win anything, though....fingers crossed!
#10 Mary on 2008-07-15 08:17
I don't have a watch, and I always feel like it looks unprofessional to check my cell phone for the time. It'd be nice to have an all-purpose watch as durable as this one! :-) Not to mention I'd just look more put-together as a whole.
#11 Alyssa (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 08:37
Yes! Well, and no. There are times when my watch just blends in, and there are times when my watch serves as a bracelet!!!
#12 jasmine (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 08:55
I used to wear a swatch watch, which definitely makes some kind of fashion statement, but then it broke and I never ended up buying a new one (like another poster said, i think my cell phone filled the gap) Watches are total fashion statements though, wether or not you think so. There are so many options out there that as soon as you pick one you've probably decided on something that fits your style, and therefore is a fashion statement!
#13 Peaches on 2008-07-15 09:11
I do wear a watch! I was given a Burbery watch for my college graduation - sleak and simple, with the traditional plaid etched in the silver band. I never wore watches before...but this one made me a convert!
#14 Susan on 2008-07-15 09:25
Absolutely a watch is a fashion statement and a great accessory! I love a chunky watch for weekends and a sleek square face watch for work, which needs a replacement as a matter of fact.
#15 Lynn on 2008-07-15 09:53
I have one watch I put on once in awhile. It's a pretty classic style so it goes with everything. But I think that Baby G watch is pretty special and modern! Perfect to replace it!
#16 JC on 2008-07-15 09:59
Yes I can not live without a watch and mine is getting tattered and old looking could really use a new one

#20 Patricia Oates on 2008-07-15 10:32
Yes, my watch is a fashion accessory! When I can I like to wear a watch that goes with my outfit, though I only have two that I can do that with. I don't have Casio Baby-G! Thanks for the chance to get one.

#23 Marilyn Wons on 2008-07-15 10:43
I haven't worn a watch in years, but would love to. I have gotten in a bad habit about not wearing my jewelry/fashion pieces. :-( I am trying to get better.
#24 Jenn S. on 2008-07-15 10:44
Not my everyday watch. It is purely for function-Big numbers and 2nd hand, plain leather strap.
Now my dressy watch is definitely just for fashion-too small and dainty to see what time it is but a pretty bracelet just the same.
#25 Dixie on 2008-07-15 10:48
It is definately a fashion accessory. I match my watches to my entire wardrobe. This would be a great addition. Thanks!!

#49 Carissa D. on 2008-07-15 12:45
My watch is a fashion statement. I don't really have to wear one anymore. Just about everything has the time on it. My cell phone. I even have a clock in the car thank God it corrects itself. Don't think I'd have the brain power to do it!

Sure the watch is a fashion accessory! Think of the Swatch watches of the 80's and how many people would wear at a time.

If I won I would be stylin'

Thanks,
Dana

#71 Garnet Leib on 2008-07-15 14:26
I think watches are definitely a fashion accessory! Like all fashion accessories, they can be used to complement any outfit in the right way - after all, you can't wear a fancy watch with a hoodie and jeans. I think a watch like this would be more fitting for that =) Hope to win it!
#72 Sarah on 2008-07-15 14:26
Watches are a great accessory and enhances an outfit. If you plan to dress up or dress down, your watch will be there to complete your total look! (Not only will it help you look your best, it will also tell you the time! haha.) Good Luck to everyone! Thanks. -Christine.

It was most fun wearing my Las Vegas watch when I actually DID get to go to Vegas!
#74 Leigh Nichols on 2008-07-15 14:30
I only own one watch and it is too plain looking to make any statement much less a fashion statement. I do wish I had 4 or 5 different watches that would be fashion accessories for different outfits I wear.
#75 Tracey Byram on 2008-07-15 14:32
At the moment it's not but it would be if I won!
gkstratos@ yahoo.com
#76 Gina Stratos on 2008-07-15 14:38
I guess it would be a fashion accessory. I like a watch to be attractive but I really need it to be functional as well. I depend on my watch for letting me know the date more than I depend on it for time. I would love to win this watch.
#77 Mindy on 2008-07-15 14:42
For me it is more of an office supply I guess because I rely on it more for work.
#78 Jennifer C. on 2008-07-15 14:46

#82 Elizabeth M. on 2008-07-15 14:59

I consider watches as a fashion accessory. Theres so many unique watches out there that can go with your clothes. I could use a new watch since my son chewed through my old one when he was teething.
#89 Shilo Beedy (Homepage) on 2008-07-15 15:24

#101 linda S on 2008-07-15 16:44
I own several watches but wear them only on special occeasions. The computer bothers a watch so I always take the watch off when I am on the computer.
#102 diana lindeman on 2008-07-15 16:45
My favorite fashion watch was my 70's superwide brown leather band with the pop rivets. I was extra groovy.
#103 bob keck on 2008-07-15 17:06
I own one really nice watch but I only wear it when I dress up because I am afraid it will get damaged or lost somehow. This would be a perfect watch to wear every day... I just love the style of this one!
#104 Andrea O on 2008-07-15 17:07
Luxury item, Hell NO. Necessity! We go every where together. sleep, shower, swim, work, you name it we're together. There is no time or need to change just so long as it works...weld it on!

#119 Gen on 2008-07-15 18:56
My occupation is a nurse and wearing a watch is a neccessity. Nursing scrubs are becoming fashionable and wearing a nice watch would add to your clothing outfit.

It's both. I really need it. Need to know when work is over. It helps if the watch looks nice.
#121 Patty on 2008-07-15 19:23
I don't think of my watch as much a fashion accessory as a fashion necessity. I do not go a day without it. I got it as a gift from my hubby, who luckily has nice taste.

#124 Christine E. on 2008-07-15 19:35
I'm not very good with watches. (I lose them somehow.) But I finally bought a plain vanilla watch at Target for about $20 and it just keeps on ticking and staying where I put it. So maybe I'm over the losing thing and it's time for me to have a fashionable watch again. I'd love to try.
#125 Gaye McGill on 2008-07-15 19:38

#132 Gretchen T on 2008-07-15 20:06
I love watches but rarely wear one as the ones I have are pretty much "outfit specific" meaning they don't go with everything I wear, just one or two outfits. ***sigh***

Thank you.
#133 Constance Swearingen on 2008-07-15 20:07
i don't have a watch haven't worn them in a while. I usually use my cell phone to check the time. However, this watch would definitely come in handy as I wouldn't have to fish out my cell phone every time i want to check the time. boom, all i have to do is look at my wrist! :-)

I don't wear one now, but have been on the lookout for awhile now! I need a "tough" but chic watch, especially for my new job as a nurse starting in Sept! A great watch was going to be a graduation gift to myself! I would love to sport this Baby-G classy watch on the nursing unit!
#136 Kristy Celetti on 2008-07-15 20:35
I surely believe that a watch is a fashion accessory!! When I was a youngin, about 18, my boyfriend bought me a Gucci Watch (its now considered vintage) ahhhh

I love watches; they can have so much personality to them!
#137 Anne on 2008-07-15 20:51

I feel lost without it.
#138 cathy lynch on 2008-07-15 21:03

#141 Terry Cross on 2008-07-15 21:37
my watch is strictly for function. It would be great to buy for fafion.
#142 Ellen Ring on 2008-07-15 21:47
I tend to get watches that look like a nice bracelet so I would have to say Yes! I have not worn a watch for some time now because I do not have one or have not received one as a gift. The baby-G is really pretty and I like that its shock resistant too.
#143 Julie Hendrix on 2008-07-15 21:50
watches can be a fashion accessory if you want it to be one... i usually end up using my cel phone though. i think you just need to find one that you like and can wear with anything~
#144 sarah k. on 2008-07-15 21:52
Would make a great sports watch, and I have to have a watch all of the time.
#145 Allen Bivins on 2008-07-15 22:10
My watch is not a fashion statement . I need to know the time
all the time.
#145.1 Mary Ann Mathews-Johnson on 2008-07-15 22:15
Not really, it's more functional than fashion but if I could find a cute everyday watch like the Baby G ...... !
#146 loki on 2008-07-15 22:29
It is for me! I have one for almost every outfit!
#147 Denise Mower on 2008-07-15 22:46

#156 Michelle H. on 2008-07-16 00:26
At this point my watch is more for functionality than style, but I hope to change that very soon.

Thanks for the contest, fun idea!
#157 Sheri on 2008-07-16 00:28
Hello, What a classy looking watch! The fun part is that it is packed with technology. I could really impress by two sons and husband with this watch. Please enter me in your fabulous drawing. I really appreciate it! Thanks, Cindi
#158 Cindi on 2008-07-16 00:35
I would love to have a watch that I could wear every day. The watch that I have (but very seldom wear) is a gold longines that was a gift to my mother from my grandmother. I want to keep it to give to my daughter!
Thanks for the chance to win this Baby-G!!
#159 kathy on 2008-07-16 00:36
My watches are utilitarian as I am not into fashion at all. My attire is primarily jeans and tees and goes perfectly with my watches. It would be nice to have at least one dressy watch for special occasions.
#160 Betty Curran on 2008-07-16 00:40
a cute watch isnt an accessory, its a necessity! love it!
#161 melissa on 2008-07-16 01:04
Nice watch!
I wear watches to keep track of time, but I also like them for the way they look with outfits. Different watches for different outfits.
#162 Terra Heck on 2008-07-16 01:04
Most definitely is the watch a fashion accessory. By what you wear on your arm tells so much about a person, whether it is a cheap watch from Wal-mart, a Gucci, a Fossil or a Baby G watch. It matches who you are and what you are wearing, or even feeling at the time. :-)
#163 SHERRI on 2008-07-16 01:42
i don't usually wear a watch cuz i'm too cheap to buy a cool looking one, but if i won one i'd wear it all the time!
#164 Samantha Pruitt on 2008-07-16 01:56
I do wear a watch, but I'm afraid it is more functional than practical. I do wish it would make a fashion statement, but how much can you expect for less than $8? Thanks for the opportunity to win!
#165 Suanne Giddings on 2008-07-16 01:59
Yes, mine is definitely a fashion accessory! It's the only jewelery I wear besides my wedding ring. :-)
#166 Jaime on 2008-07-16 02:34
My husband changes his watch with nearly every outfit, it's my turn! lol I just haven't been able to find one I like until now and with a chance to win it for free, what more could a girl ask for?
#167 sabb266 on 2008-07-16 02:58
Yes, it comes in so many different sizes and shapes, I think its a fashion accessory.

Just look at the famous rapper Flava Flav.. he wears a huge "watch" around his body as a necklace!

Thanks for the contest.

#171 david basile on 2008-07-16 06:25
I have two watches and the batteries are dead in both of them, and I've been really lazy getting new ones. I don't really think of them as accessories, but one is all silver and a little dressier, and one has a leather band and is more dressed-down. So I guess I do pick and choose based on what goes with my outfit.
#172 Jodi on 2008-07-16 06:31
I believe watches will ALWAYS be an accessory and and necessity in this era! Why wear something that's blah....
#173 Roseann Kies on 2008-07-16 06:38

A watch can be a fashion statement. Mostly mine have just told the time. Now that I'm retired I don't wear one as often but there are times I really need one.
#178 Ellan on 2008-07-16 07:31

#179 MARILOUISE on 2008-07-16 07:42

#182 Lily Kwan on 2008-07-16 07:52

Yes . I like to match my watch with what I wear.
#193 Teresa E on 2008-07-16 09:17
Don't currently wear one, since have become sensitive to the metal most watches use for their backs, but before I retired, I tried to make certain I wore an attractive one. Despite that, it was a necessary item for my profession, not considered an accessory of any kind! If I won this, would probably give it as a gift.
#194 Carol G on 2008-07-16 09:30
My watch is absolutely a fashion accessory! I feel almost naked when I don't have one on. I love to have all different kinds of watches so I can match them to waht I'm wearing. Thank you so much for the great contest.

Really cute. Sometimes we use watches as accessories and sometimes we really need to keep track of time but we have cute ones for when we do so I'd say yes they are accessories too. No reason to have something not cute when there are so many choices.
#203 Dddiva (Homepage) on 2008-07-16 10:18
My watch is both a fashion statement and a necesity.
