3 Dorm Ideas for 3 Style Personas

Dorm Room Decor Ideas on a Budget
Summer is coming to a close and school is starting soon! I don't know about you all but I can't wait to get back to my college campus. One of my favorite things about starting a new school year is decorating! You have free reign on how to decorate your space and can express yourself through your choices.

With that being said, here are three dorm room ideas for three types of girls. Although they are all different in style, they have one thing in common: All of the items are under $100! Read on for budget-friendly picks from some of my favorite places to shop for dorm decor, including my all-time favorite sheets, my favorite quilt for that home-away-from-home feel and more.

For the Boho Babe

If you love earth tones, tie dye, and a cozy atmosphere then this room is for you!

Need dorm decorating ideas? Here are 3 styles with finds under $100 for every persona.
Magical Thinking Blue Medallion Comforter, $89
If you are going to spend money on one thing in your dorm room, it should be your bedding. After pulling all nighters for calculus, or coming back from a wild night out, you will thank yourself in the future for having comfortable bedding. Be sure to buy a mattress pad too for extra relaxation.

Jersey Sheet Set, $14,99
I bought these sheets for my first college dorm room. Ever since I purchased them, I refuse to buy any other type! They are breathable for when your dorm doesn't have AC in the summer but they are also cozy when winter rolls around. The only negative is that they are so comfy and soft that you will probably never get out of bed and will have to miss a class or two because of it.

Faux Fur Pillow, $14.99
Faux fur is very trendy right now in home decor. Kylie Jenner's bedroom is basically "faux fur themed" and Caitlyn Jenner's living room is too...so your dorm should be, right?

“HEY” LED Sign, $49.99
Not your typical twinkly lights. Be different with this "HEY" LED sign.

Tie Dye Hamper, $39
When I went off to school I had purchased a white plastic hamper and it was a huge mistake. The first time I went to do laundry, a girl took my basket of clothes thinking it was hers! I recommend standing out with a trendy hamper to make sure no one is stealing your precious new back to school clothes.

For the Prepster

If you love bright colors, classic patterns, and organization then this room is for you!

Lace Garland, $21
Nailing decor to walls was prohibited in my college dorm residence, so me and my roomie got creative and bought garland! It's cute, different, and light. All you need to hang them are Command Strips.

Crinkle Puff Quilt, $89
I used to own this PBteen quilt in coral. Yes, it does say "quilt" but it is think enough that I would consider it a comforter. This is also very washing machine friendly.

Folding Ottoman Chair
Ottomans are a must have for your college dorm room. You can store clothes, extra blankets, or just about anything else inside of them. Not only are they great for storage, but if you have people come over to hang out or study, they have a place to sit! Genius.

Cotton Blend Striped Sheets, $39
This classic pattern reminds me of Kate Spade; cute classic, chic.

Treasured Traditions Greek Letter Pillow, $24.99
Greek life is a great way to get involved on campus. Ones rush is over, rep your letters in your dorm room with this adorable decorative pillow. (More styles and colors are available on the website).

For the Shabby Chic Lover

If you love pastels, florals, and vintage decor then this room is for you!

Texture Comforter, $39
I have this comforter in white at my parents house. It is everything a comforter should be; comfy, warm, cute. What more do you need?

Audrey Hepburn Wall Art, $45
Don't forget IKEA for amazingly affordable dorm decor, like this wall art of style icon Audrey Hepburn...perfect for the prepster, too!

Shag Runner Rug, $69
If your residence hall has tile flooring then a rug is essential. When the cold months roll around your freezing feet will thank you.

Velvet Bow Pillow, $35
PBteen has adorable vintage inspired decorative pillows. If this one is not your cup of tea, then check out the others!

Tripod Lamp (Map of Paris), $49
Not your average study lamp, but it's cute and does the trick!

Vintage Eyelash Pillows, $36
This is my favorite piece out of all three bedroom styles. The eyelashes add an extra feminine touch to your bedding. The yellow and black colors have great contrast so that your room feels a little bit brighter.
