She was named "Model of the Year" in 2007 by the British Fashion Awards and tapped as one of the world's next supermodels by Vogue on the cover of their May 2007 issue. British model Agyness Deyn, whose real name is Laura Hollins, has taken the fashion world by storm with her platinum blond pixie haircut, lanky boyish figure and rock-chick aesthetic. Her style has a decidedly London vibe which I love to admire - from a distance, though, as I don't think I could pull off most of her looks. Seeing her face in Burberry ads has given the company a fresh new edge and made me look at the sometimes stodgy label in a whole new way. While I don't see her as the next Kate Moss, though many have made the comparison, I do think she's gorgeous, she's different, she takes chances and heck, the girl owes her parents for some great genes.

first of all, she looks like a 5 year old (and probably weighs less). what she looks like on the runway is another story. in real life, the top is too flimsy, too low cut, the shorts not appropriate for city wear, the shoes, don't even want to comment how a grown up woman would even want to wear kids' sneakers. at a resort, she could get away with it. in london, a major fashion capital, no way. why not show people who are covered up (hello, skin cancer!) and who eat?

kate moss? anorexic druggie, friends with naomi campbell, lives with heroin addict.
sarah jessica parker? got her big role playing an immature 30-something who sleeps with guys on the 1st date.
paris hilton? in rehab since 14. did her own porn video. seems to be 'growing up' a little (at 27!) but still dumb and shallow.
madonna? had 7 abortions, 2 kids with 2 different guys, not married to either one at the time she had the kids, subscribing to some esoteric cult and calling herself esther (i call her self-absorbed and loony).
saying that, i loved the blog about comparing michelle obama and cindy mccain, 2 women who have actually ACCOMPLISHED something in their lives and dress well too.
let's combine brains and beauty more often.

Everyone just focuses on the "glamour" and never looks at what that kind of lifestyle or belief system does to a person in real life behind the cameras. I personally would rather look like hell and be happy, then be the biggest most beautiful star with a rotting soul...
