BB's Weekly Link Round-Up: NYFW, High/Low Fall Shoes and More

Shop the hottest fall 2017 shoe trends on a budget.
If you need a little fashion diversion this weekend, I've rounded up some links worth reading - including how the fashion community is helping with hurricane relief - plus the best fall shoes on a budget.

The CFDA shares ways you can help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

These "shades of nude" pumps come in 7 colors to match most skintones - just $29.99 from A New Day. I saw these yesterday in store, lookin' good.

College Fashion shows ways to style combat boots without looking edgy.

Corporette shares what to wear to a business cocktail party.

I love how Fashion Jackson styled her geometric J.Crew 'Orbit' earrings, which are actually only $48 (not bad for something that looks like wearable art). Sole Society has a similar, slightly smaller version here (although I prefer the J.Crew).

Here's what readers have asked me to find this week - I always love hearing what you're looking for and thought it would be fun to share!

I got some questions about the olive green utility jacket with embroidery I wore to the Star 99.9 radio station this week (catch my segment here)...it's old Who What Wear for Target. But this jacket by A New Day is super similar and features pretty floral embroidery on the sleeve!

If you love Olivia Palermo's longline vest look, your best bet in finding something similar under $100 is Zara. This sleeveless trench is so good.

I adore these Edie loafer flats that a reader was admiring...more affordable options include these A New Day D'Orsay flats (same fabric, slightly different silhouette). Personally I'll be checking T.J.Maxx for these velvet loafers - 3 colors, just $39.99!

I'm enjoying the Nordstrom blog's coverage of New York Fashion Week. Other faves to follow are @evachen212 on Instagram (she posts live videos from the front row), Damsel in Dior (always smart and funny) and of course my girl Sydne Summer (style and substance).

Also, I wanted to share this insightful comment from a reader on Facebook on why brick-and-mortar stores are closing in record numbers:

"When I heard about Gap, I immediately thought, why is Nordy's staying so popular as a brick and mortar? I think the semi annual sale AND the fact style influencers basically live off that content for the weeks the sale is running. I don't see other stores grabbing fashion influencers on social media like that. So while we aren't just shopping online boutiques, we also look to fashion bloggers on social media for style suggestions... and they aren't wearing a lot of brick and mortar." -Meredith R.

Now for those shoe picks! "High" on the left, "low" on the right:

Thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the hurricanes. -BB
