Who What Wear Daily's Fall Must-Haves

I could watch Who What Wear TV all day. Literally. It's so yummy. But since I have a day job, that's just not possible. However, I did manage to squeeze in some time today to watch two great clips about Fall fashion, and I took some notes to share with you all. Here we go:

Best Budget Basics for Fall (watch the clip)
Shopping for a new season can get expensive, so here are some trendy and thrifty items to update your wardrobe:

Flannel workshirt a la Lauren Conrad: Pair with skinny jeans. Or, for evening, wear with a contrasting, dressier black skirt. Finish the look with fierce pumps.

Gray blazer a la Kate Moss: Achieve another great look by pairing with a long sleeve tee, jeans in a relaxed fit, and lace up oxfords with ankle socks.

Tip: Visit your local thrift store (trends come and go in cycles). Make a list before you shop so you won't be overwhelmed or over-spend.

5 Key Accessories for Fall (watch the clip)

  • Chains: Pile several chains on at once

  • Wool beanies as seen on the Alexander Wang runway

  • Long-strap handbags: Can be worn on one shoulder or across the body

  • Motorcycle boots as seen on the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway

  • Black lace tights

Tip: Invest in shoes and bags, which you wear on a daily basis

The flannel is calling to me, despite the fact that I wore this trend the first time around. Gulp. I don't yet have a blazer in gray, so that's another piece I look forward to adding to my wardrobe. I had a fab long-strap handbag from H&M but the strap broke, so I was planning on finding a replacement anyways. Good to know they're "in" I suppose! Black lace tights? On the fence. Maybe if I can find some that aren't scratchy.

Is anything speaking to you so far for fall?

Comments
the flannel is definitely speaking to me and i also wore it the first time around.

maybe the motorcycle boots as well...

mmm this fall... i love the deep and rich colors of apparel that just came out (e.g. chocolate, purples, oranges). Think silk sleeveless blouse in a dramatic purple to go with never out of style striped wool wide gray pant...:-) mix of luxury with down to earth fabrics and colors...

still not sure about the black lace tights... prefer black leggins:)

Laura, i can relate. After i gave away a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti sandals to my little cousin, i did give up the practice of throwing/giving away everything out that i didn't wear for the past 2 years - THE STYLES ALWAYS COME BACK:):) just in different combinations:)

I'm aching for a pair of suede flat boots, like Robert Clergerie's Fania's: http://www.shopbop.com/fania-suede-flat-boot-robert/vp/v=1/845524441820258.htm?folderID=282574488387523&color=11841&fm=lookbook. Only ... I'd like to find a pair that aren't $795.00!

P.S. I love Who What Wear TV, too. I receive their daily MySpace bulletins!

Katie: Those boots are scrumptious. Good news is that suede flat boots are huge for fall, so all the stores are carrying them at every price point!

Laura: I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of my bronze Doc Martens. I never thought I'd wear them again in a million years, and yet, here we are... I love the moto boots, too. I could definitely rock that look.

Flannel shirts are back?!! Nooooooooo!!!!

I do love black lace tights, though. I've collected a few very pretty pairs of these over the years, so I can really rock them come Fall!

Hee hee hee. Oh yes, I remember flannel back in the day, too. Feeling oooooold over here.

The chains, boots, and tights I've got covered. Beanies, though? For reals?
